Everyone fights over the vests we have on the boat to make sure they get these. Easy to switch from person to person when switching tubing riders because of how easily they are adjusted. Just be sure to tuck the straps under if you’re going tubing or you’ll get straps hitting your face. We even got into a situation that the vest was needed to keep afloat an injured person and luckily they had on this vest. I recently purchased 7 different life vests/pfd’s for my family of 4 for the purpose of paddle boarding. They ranged in price from $30-$120. Surprisingly, this $30 “Adult Universal” size life vest was the perfect fit for my 12-year-old average size son - 105 lbs, 32” diameter chest, 4’10” tall. The clips are easy for him to manage, the vest isn’t overly bulky, it’s cinches down appropriately, and it will fit him for a number of years. There is good arm clearance for him while paddling so that the vest and straps don’t rub on his arms. I’ll also add that my son is a sensory sensitive kid and most new things feel uncomfortable on his body but for whatever reason, he’s very happy with this one. I just purchased another one to have as a back up when we bring a friend along because it’s the kind of basic vest that can be easily adjusted to fit anyone. I’ve been in much more comfortable life jackets before, but for the price and to have a basic life vest, this seems fine. It did already start to sunbleach after just one use. I did not wear it in the water, so I can’t speak to flotation capability, but I’m sure it works fine.

I'm 5'10"ish and 190 lbs and the adult universal generally fits me well but doesn't come down much past my upper abdomen. I'd kind of expected it to at least reach the mid abdomen. On the positive side, I understand that might be useful for kayaking (which is how I'll be using it) so it should be fine (apparently less issue with rubbing the seat back), but I'm almost inclined to think that it might rub it more in that it is right around the hight of the seat back. I haven't used it yet, so crossed fingers. But if you have a long torso (I think mine is relatively normal in length), the jacket for taller folks might be better. For the amount of times I'll be using this, I expect mine will be fine. In hindsight I would have gone for a longer length. ... show more
