Bought the inflatable along with a rearming kit with plans to test. Tested this morning and we were impressed. While playing at the lake had our son wade out to see what it would be like. It inflated faster than we ever dreamed, was rock solid and floated him high. With the low gunwalls on our bass boat and the excellent fall and winter fishing around here, I like the idea of the inflatable. It’s too easy to catch a stump and be off balance. Perfect size and so less bulky than regular life jackets. 12 year old grandson will use on a fishing trip and I’ll be much more comfortable that he’s always got it on and protected.

    • Be sure to test with your kids
My kids refuse to wear the standard (?type III) life vests. So I got a pair of these because they are more comfortable, and they are the only manufacturer I could find that made inflatable life vests in kids' sizes. We go SUP'ing in a calm marina and my kids know how to swim, but I'd rather see them wear something. The problem I had was that when I had my kids test them, they could not deploy the device via the manual pull. I did not test the automatic (water submersion) method. I contacted the company (Eyson) and customer service was excellent. I was sent a replacement pair, but I had the same problem: when my kids pulled as hard as they could, it would not inflate. Eyson sent me a video of a child deploying one of their devices, so I may have received a bad bunch. Eyson continued offering to work with me; they were going to send me new co2 canisters next, but I requested a refund and they obliged. My advice is to test this with your kids as soon as you receive it. The problem I encountered may be fixed by now. If not, this is a honorable company that will stand by their products... ... show more
