    • Pretty good light for mounting on a shower ceiling

We just installed a new shower enclosure and there never was much light in the shower enclosure especially if the bathroom light was off. So I bought this battery operated ceiling light to stick on the ceiling of my shower enclosure and them mounted the remote on the shower wall where it wouldn’t get wet but still easily reached to control the light. It works very well over all, even the motion works pretty well too! I do wish the light stayed on longer with the motion detection. But a little movement turns the light right back on. Motion detection is nice just in case you forget to turn off the light the light turns itself off! If you turn the light on manually then be sure you remember to manually shut the light off again too! There’s plenty of light with the adjustment on this light from a yellowish light to a brighter white light and it can be dimmed or made brighter to your liking! So far I have no complaints about this light at all. But I am curious to see how long the battery lasts? We will see! ... show more

If you're looking for this light to be bright?... it will NOT be bright. 300 lumens is only about 20 to 25W in an incandescent bulb, depending on the source you check. It is brighter than a nightlight, however. We installed it in a newly-created 30" x 40" area at the top of a basement stairway. It serves its function with just enough light so that we're not bumping around in the dark looking for door handles. The light comes with a remote, which we're not using since we're relying on the motion sensor to activate the light. The motion sensor works fine, with only a fraction of a second delay before the light turns on. I can't speak to its longevity, as we just installed it a few days ago My recommendation is to NOT use the wall anchors that came with the unit -- these do not have the small flange on the end and the wall anchors pushed through the sheetrock upon tightening the screws. Instead, I took two anchors from the assortment I bought here on Amazon a while back and used those. Worked perfectly. In any event, I would NOT use double stick tape as the three D-cells make the assembly too heavy for that, I estimate ... show more

We were replacing a similar light for a tight dark hallway. Old light is not on the market anymore (served us well for 5 years until battery leaked and destroyed it). This light seemed most similar and straightforward. Also, an upgrade with all the newer features although we don't care to use remote control and change setting all the time. We need a simple ceiling mounted motion detector light when we enter a dark hallway, and to work well. When our newly ordered unit arrived it only worked for a day or two and then went dead on us despite red motion detector light blinking and fresh batteries. We thought about returning it immediately back to seller. But we reached out first to let them know. Seller was extra responsive and made it right by sending us new unit very fast and free of charge which I am pleased to report works great and hopefully for a long time. At the time of this review replacement unit is used daily for about 7-9 days without an issue. The unit even comes with extra remote battery which is a nice touch. We like that we don't have to use extra glaring white light. We like brightness of softer yellow-er light option. Best, we love the way we can set it and forget it, while it does what we need it to do. One star taken for the first bad impression. ... show more

I mounted this permanently before realizing the motion sensor didn’t work unless I touched it - otherwise I would have returned. Can only use remote to turn the light on. Works fine and is bright enough for a standing shower, otherwise.

So far it's held up. I installed this in my shower because with the curtain closed at night with no natural light, and the vanity light on the other side of the room, it can get a bit dark. I don't use it every time I shower at night, depends on my mood and if I think I'll need the extra light or not, but so far, it's held up, probably used it about a dozen times now, and the batteries are still going. One thing I do like about it is you can set a timer on the remote for 15 minutes, which is plenty of time for me to get the water temp right, take my shower, dry off and do anything else I may need to do in the bathroom before it turns itself off, so I don't have to worry about remembering to turn it off. So far the moisture from the shower has not shown any effect on the light, it's not in direct contact with the water, as it's on the ceiling, but I take hot, steamy showers, and I can't see any harm from it. Can be a bit of a pain to install up high though, and it's gonna be tight getting the back on and off to replace batteries, but so far, so good. ... show more
