  • Great Shed! Great Style! Great Price! - Easy to Assemble!
This Workshed is awesome! It is exactly what we were looking for! We had just moved into a new home, and needed a shed to use while working on other home remodel projects. The kit arrived on two, very large pallets which were easy for us to separate and set the items aside to inventory and arrange in the order the instructions called for (good thing we have plenty of space to do this). One of the benefits of this unit is that it comes with the floor kit, as well. Competing do-it-yourself shed kits do not include the flooring - which would have been an additional cost. The delivery arrived a few days early, and it was quick and easy for the deliverymen to set the huge pallets on my driveway next to the house. The instructions were also easy enough to follow (I had to "tweak" them a bit as, while the shed is "customizable," the only options for the dormer were south and west ... I picked this style out *because* of the dormer; that it would match the similar dormer on my house - Therefore, I stood against the back fence and faced south, so that the dormer would be aimed east - Then I just 'switched' the front and back walls - Easy as pie). It took my husband and myself only two weeks (14 days/6-8hrs per day) to complete the unit - and that's with two rain days and two half days while roofers were re-roofing our home. My husband has barely touched a hammer in his life, and I had to train him on the proper use of a cordless drill/driver. ... We painted the structure and installed the roof shingles using the same materials used on our home - so that everything would match! I immediately built two work benches out of the wood from the pallets the kit came on! I filled the unit with my tools and began working on our other home remodel projects. Be aware - There were two pieces missing from each of the two pallets; four pieces in all. 2 2"x4"x24"s and 2 2"x4"x45"s. We had to stop, run to the store and have those pieces cut. I'm sure the manufacturer would have shipped them, but we didn't want to wait. It's wasn't a problem for us. Also, there were 3 small mistakes in the instructions. One mistake had the piece dimension incorrect for a piece that was clearly labelled as the correct piece (it ended up being the correct piece and the correct size - it just didn't match the dimension in the instructions, tho it DID match the dimension in the parts' list). Another error left 3 pieces out of the picture on that instruction page, though they were listed as being needed for that step. The final error was an "in order" issue; not a huge mistake, but the sequence could not be done in the order listed on the page(s) ... I had to scratch my head to figure out how to complete "A" before heading on to "B" ... "B" HAD to come first. Again, not a huge problem. All in all, it's a great looking unit and I'm very happy with my purchase. Excellent value for the money I spent. ... show more

  • Good quality for the money, great looking shed!!!
Okay, so when I read the reviews, everyone reviewed the “Windermere”. We bought “The Designer” for the larger barn doors. So, MOST of it is the same, there are slight differences. The delivery went pretty flawless, they used two pallet jacks to take it off the truck using a lift gate. No issues there. The build was actually very straightforward. A couple of pieces were cut incorrectly. Two were too long with the incorrect angle, I was able to rectify those. One was 1/4” too short, I used some boards I had from other projects. Two trim pieces at the dormer were too short, and I wasn’t about to buy a whole sheet to fix the issue. Before you begin building, I would measure everything and label each piece. It IS tedious, but at least you’ll know what you may need going any further. If I were to do this project again, I would FOR SURE paint everything first. All of the trim was a bit of a pain. I did a METAL roof. I know, I know, that voided my warranty, I just don’t care. It’s a wooden shed, and I plan to match the roof with my house and garage. The metal went fantastic, and I’d do it again in a heartbeat. We’re also going to be adding metal “skirting” to two or three sides of the shed, as the leveling left some of it higher. DO NOT expect anything to be labeled as you’re building. There are NO labels. That’s where I’d mentioned measuring everything. I marked things as I’d gone along(too late in a couple circumstances). This made things go a bit quicker. Side-Note…I did about 95% of this by myself. My wife helped put the last wall into place. My neighbor helped lift two sheets of OSB onto the roof. That’s it for help with the BUILD. The windows are shed windows, the doors are shed doors, they work, the look pretty fine after paint, but don’t expect double hung insulated windows, or a door that you can close by pushing it. You have to turn the handle to close it as well as opening. Overall, I would definitely buy this shed again. The cost saved me quite a bit of trips to the lumber yard/hardware store to get it all myself. For me, well worth the money having NEARLY everything needed delivered. I used a Milwaukee framing nailer to save a bit of time, so I have a bunch of nails left over. I had to buy paint, caulk, felt paper, drip edge, ridge cap, and metal for the roof. I bought a coupe extra 10’ 2x4’s and a couple sheets of OSB and added more loft space. I also added a small 4’x6’ deck, using the pallets that the shed arrived on. So, you may not want to throw those away right off. I have LOADS of pictures of the progress, if you’re looking for something specific, leave a comment, I’ll try to oblige. ... show more

  • Waterfront Garden Shed with Dormer
When I started thinking about a replacement shed, my original plan was to build one from scratch. My materials list started getting too complicated and expensive. Along came the Amazon Black Friday sale and this 10'x12' shed with a dormer popped up at the right price. I was reluctant to start assembly at first so I read through the instructions several times before starting and 'built' the shed in my mind. My wife and I put the main parts together in about 2 days. Fortunately we had an existing slab which gave us a good clean place to work. As usual I overthink projects and decided to make a few changes to the plans. I did away with the second door on the side and added a 6' swinging patio door to the front. All changes required some slight modifications to the structure but nothing too difficult. I also had enough siding and roofing materials left over from my home upgrades to use on the shed so it matches my house. For the most part I am happy with the (almost finished) results. Any problems I encountered came from me not paying attention to details. Follow the instructions and keep a level nearby. I do intend to wrap the fascia with white aluminum but waiting for the right opportunity. Is my shed perfect? No, but it did the job for the right price. I'm sure this shed would have cost at least $8k delivered. ... show more
