I bought this for the sun specifically. Good travel size for one person. I don’t have any issues opening or closing the umbrella, which I originally worried about based on other reviews. But with that being said, it does take a tiny bit more of effort than you would retracting other umbrellas. I would not recommend this for children or the disabled unless they have help available. The travel case is more sturdy than I expected for the price. Upon opening the package for the first time there was a formaldehyde smell, but it seemed to have dissipated within a minute of bringing the umbrella outside. I would recommend this if you’re just looking for a quick, cheap UPF/UV umbrella to keep yourself out of the sun. ... show more

Bought this umbrella to take on a trip that had rain n the forecast. Fit nicely in my small backpack without taking up alot of room. Easy to open but a few times I had to put more effort into clicking it in to stay open. Easy to close and return to its case so my backpack interior didn't get all wet. Never tried in strong wind. Not sure how it would fair. It's pretty lightweight and only big enough to protect one person but it served its purpose on my trip. Lots of colors to choose from. Going to keep in my trunk. After being outside in the rain, closed up umbrella and placed it in the case. The case did not leak or appear wet on the outside after an hour. I do not want to persuade anyone from buying this item. It would be fine for me. However, my lil girl could not open it fully. It takes a firm grip and a lil elbow grease to lock it in or it will not remain open. Everything else seemed fine.
