The assembly was quite easy working alone. The "self tapping" screws went in smoothly with the use of a drill and appropriate driver. I was mounting the rail on wooden steps which was very easy to do with the supplied wood bolts. very secure. I must say I am not a fan of expansion bolts in concrete. When I have mounted other rails to concrete I found "tapcon" concrete screws far more superior and easier to use instead. All in all, now my wife want another of these rails attached to the other side of the steps, so I bought another, enough said!!

The boxed railing arrived torn and looked like someone had badly taped it back together. I blame shipping for that. After opening the railing I found that 2 post caps were missing. Everything else was packaged very well and included mounting hardware with assembly tools. I emailed the seller and explained about the damage package with the post caps missing. They said that they would send me replacements and to my surprise they sent a complete new railing, no charge. This railing is well made easy to install and very sturdy. Great customer service!

Took several hours, largely because the directions included no photos of exactly how the brackets were supposed to line up. Also had to raise the level of the lower step with a couple of pieces of plywood because there was not enough flexibility in adjusting the posts. Great relief when we were able to complete the project, thankfully the supports are very strong.

Drilled the holes to the size in the instructions and PAST the mark on the pencil! Started to hammer the bolts and they just would not go deeper into the holes then half way. Spent about 45 minutes wacking them with a 8lb sludge hammer and I still cant get them all the way in! Beat the heck out of the post in the process! IF you buy this use a bit 1/16 or 1/8 larger.
