  • Outstanding rod for a budget price.
I bought the Spinning, 7' MH with Fast action. Just buy from this brand, whichever one you need. It's always worth it. If it's on sale, buy two. I have another, comparable rod at 7' MH with Fast action at a comparable price. However, the quality and detail in the Handing rod blows the other brand out of the water. A couple important points for me: 1. If the action is fast, it should be fast. It has good, consistent bend that is a true fast action rod. 2. The reel seat needs to be high quality. This has high quality Fuji seats that fit my reel perfectly. It fits great into my hands and there are no rough edges or burrs. 3. The rod should recover from being bent quickly. The carbon fiber blank does just that. There is no extra wobble in the rod after pulling tension. Less important, but pluses. 1. The line guides are high quality Fuji guides. There are 9 guides on a 7 ft blank. They are smooth and the 15lb braid that I use flows through them easily. 2. The cork is high quality and beautifully sculpted. 3. The blank is wonderful, has a rough winded texture that feels great and tactile in hand. 4. The line guide at the tip has an anti-line wrap function. This is so you don't break your high quality rod. Then again, it won't break the bank so you can just buy another one. 5. The attention to detail for the wrapping is spot on. There's even a blue accent on the cork grip seats. Cons: 1. The color. Sky blue doesn't fit my matte black aesthetic. The quality of the blank makes me colorblind though. 2. No designated hook keeper. It looks like you can hook your lures onto the reel seat screw but do what you want. TL:DR - If you need a fast action MH rod, just get this one. If you go to cabelas or sportsman's warehouse or your local big box store, you're looking at the very least $200 for something comparable. Save your money to buy more tackle or line or upgrade your reel. ... show more

  • Impressed - great rod
Size: C: Spin 6'-Light - M Fast-2pcs
I bought the 2 pc light. Loved it so much, I got the ultralight 2 pc too. I've caught many fish on the light, which is now my go-to rod paired with the M1 2000 size spinning reel. It's sensitive and seems durable. The 2pc joint is robust and tight. Reel seat locking nut is finished nicely. It feels like a high end rod. I'm a little torn - I'd really like to equipment from a long standing American brand. But I got the rods on an Amazon sale, around half the price of what they sell for today, just to try out for a bargain. Even at today's price, the rods are nice and I recommend. ... show more

  • Light versatile tackle setup
Size: C: Spin 6'6''-Medium Light - Fast-2pcs
Upon arrival, the box was damaged but the rod looked fine. I wish the package was better package like kastking, coming in a harder box and foam. The tip ring is misaligned from the rest but The rod feels good to the touch. After taking it out fishing I'll come back to give it a better review.

  • Broke within minutes of fishing
Size: C: Spin 6'-Light - M Fast-2pcs
The ashtetics of this rod are amazing. Unfortunatly, the funtionality is terrible. The rod broke within an hour of receiving it in the mail. I got it set up amd went fishing immediatly. When reeling in a moderatly sized bluegill, the rod snapped in half. I am now left with a broken rod that barely saw any use. ... show more

  • Great rod for jigging
Sensitivity - good, I able to feel bottom with 3/4 oz, where usually other fishermen use 1 oz. Weight - lighter than Kastking Perigee II. I have 2 setups: first - miracle with revros 3000 and second - Kastking Perigee II with regal 2500. The first setup is lighter and you can easy feel this if you switched between them during fishing. Quality - good. I haven't seen any issue yet with my rod. Value for money - great. I bought rod with 50% off, so I can't see any analog in $40 price range. Also I like that all handing rods come in the bags. Performance - good, can't complain yet. The rod is able to set a hook into walleye and keep a line tight to compensate any walleye's attempts to hook off. As I fish more with this rod I also like it more. I would highly recommend this rod in $40-50 range. UPDATE 10/14/24 - It was one of my favorite rod and today the tip has been broken during walleye netting... Hopefully it will be covered by 12 months warranty... UPDATE - the seller didn't have exact same rod in the stock and reimbursed the cost. ... show more

  • Worth the money
Size: C: Spin 6'6''-Medium Light - Fast-2pcs
So far so good! Got a great deal on the rod so I'm happy! I have used many rods from Fenwick and Lew's as well as Kastking in recent times. This one stands out as very light and responsive. Pulled in a 6 pound LM bass on the medium light 6 foot 6 no problem! Happy with the purchase, would recommend the product. ... show more

  • Really impressive
I build my own high end rods and I saw this just scrolling through Amazon. It was 28 bucks on sale for the 2 piece medium. I figured it would make a good loner rod, just the guides alone would cost me 15 bucks. Once I got it in hand I wasn’t disappointed at all. This rod could easily compete in the 100 price range. I paired it to a genius bfs reel and took it out today throwing light jerkbaits. There is no difference between this rod and any rod up to the 200 dollar mark in sensitivity . It’s more sensitive than any 30 rod should be, I was bumping rocks. I’d say the 6’8” med is on the lighter side, which I like anyway. Honestly it may not be a loner rod anymore. It’s probably just going to be a river smallie kayaking rod, that I won’t be sad about if it breaks. I looked other reviews and I’d guess that most of the breakages are shipping issues. I also wouldn’t high stick or boat flip with this rod, but I don’t do that with any rod. ... show more

  • This is really a nice rod!
Size: D: Spin 7' - Medium - Fast-1pcs
I got this rod on sale, I think I paid $30, but when I got it and took it out fishing I was so impressed I went to get a few more, but the sale was over and the rod is $120. I feel this is really worth the full price, but I have quite a few rods already, so it's not a priority at that price until I need another quality rod. I got the medium/fast rod and it is super sensitive, very responsive and one of my favorite rods now. Right up there with my TFO, Manley, and Fitzgerald Rods. ... show more
