  • Best Ultra Light Croppy Killer
Size: 01-5'6''-ultralight-mod fast-1 pc
I had a feeling this was going to be a good rod for croppies, and light tackle in general. And it feels like the best ultra light i've ever had. With fantastic sensitivity and still a good backbone for something bigger. It's my new favorite rod. 🎣 😍

  • Great looking rod. Power under rated
Size: 05-6'6''-medium heavy-fast-2 pcs
I recently purchased your M1 Handing Fishing Pole, 2 piece, Medium Heavy. I was extremely dissapointed with the pole. Right out of the box, the pole looked amazing! Looked like it was exceptional quality . I was (initially) extremely pleased, until I used the rod. In the 40 yrs Ive been fishing, this is perhaps the most frustrating pole I have ever used. The two piece design should fit snugly together, so the eyes line up; however, it constantly moved and did not stay in place. Casting was mediocre, at best. I found if you cast the pole sidearm, it cast exceptionally well. If you cast the pole overhand (from the back of your shoulder, straight overhead, towards the water) the line did not go through the guides smoothly. In my opinion, it has to do with the placement of the hook keeper. I think it was getting in the way of the line coming off the pole smoothly. The medium heavy was way too stiff and really hampered casting ability. The medium heavy was more like a heavy rod and not a medium heavy. Due to the stiffness of the rod , the line tended to bounce or "thump" through the guides and created a lot of noise while casting. Casting was not smooth at all. I will say , after 3 hours of trying to figure out the issue with the pole/casting problems, I gave up and returned it to Amazon. Incase you're wondering, I paired it with a brand new C3000HG Shimano Nexave . It was not the reel, as I placed the reel on a Shakespeare medium rod and had no issues. Not really sold on the handing fishing pole. Maybe a one piece would have been better? Maybe a medium would have been better? I'm not sure . I will say, Handing has gone out of their way to help me with this issue. Their customer service is exceptional. Update: After working with a customer service representative, Handing sent me an M1, 1 piece, Medium Rod to see if that would better suit my needs. What a HUGE difference! First of all, the rod came packaged incredibly well. Not only was it shipped in a thick, sturdy cardboard tube but it was bubble wrapped as well. No damage to the carboard tube or rod whatsoever. The Medium power rod made all the difference in the world. Casting was smooth and flawless! There were none of the issues with the 1 piece rod that I experienced with the medium heavy, 2 piece rod. By the way, I used the same exact reel with both poles in order to ensure the most accurate review possible. The bottom line, Handing has definitely under rated the power on their rods. As mentioned, the Medium power rod performs similar to most other brands medium heavy rods. The medium heavy rod, performed like most other brands heavy rods. Handing should reconsider their rating criteria on rod power. For the past few weeks, I have used this rod to fish both fresh and salt water. Fresh water fishing with the medium power , 1 piece rod is great! Caught several Largemouth Bass and Chain Pickerel. It performed exceptionally well. I actually wanted to put the rod through the paces (so to speak) so I fished with this rod in the Ocean, off a Jetty, in Plymouth Massachusetts. The rod easily cast Bucktails, Topwater and Jigs that were over an ounce, even though the rod is "lure rated" for up to 5/8 oz. Again, the medium rod feels to me more like a medium heavy. Handing did a great job with their medium 1 piece spinning rods. Now that I switched from a 2 piece, medium heavy, to a 1 piece Medium, I would definitely recommend purchasing this rod for freshwater or even light, inshore saltwater needs. ... show more

  • Worth the money
Size: 03-6'6''-medium light-fast-2 pcs
So far so good! Got a great deal on the rod so I'm happy! I have used many rods from Fenwick and Lew's as well as Kastking in recent times. This one stands out as very light and responsive. Pulled in a 6 pound LM bass on the medium light 6 foot 6 no problem! Happy with the purchase, would recommend the product. ... show more

  • Outstanding rod for a budget price.
I bought the Spinning, 7' MH with Fast action. Just buy from this brand, whichever one you need. It's always worth it. If it's on sale, buy two. I have another, comparable rod at 7' MH with Fast action at a comparable price. However, the quality and detail in the Handing rod blows the other brand out of the water. A couple important points for me: 1. If the action is fast, it should be fast. It has good, consistent bend that is a true fast action rod. 2. The reel seat needs to be high quality. This has high quality Fuji seats that fit my reel perfectly. It fits great into my hands and there are no rough edges or burrs. 3. The rod should recover from being bent quickly. The carbon fiber blank does just that. There is no extra wobble in the rod after pulling tension. Less important, but pluses. 1. The line guides are high quality Fuji guides. There are 9 guides on a 7 ft blank. They are smooth and the 15lb braid that I use flows through them easily. 2. The cork is high quality and beautifully sculpted. 3. The blank is wonderful, has a rough winded texture that feels great and tactile in hand. 4. The line guide at the tip has an anti-line wrap function. This is so you don't break your high quality rod. Then again, it won't break the bank so you can just buy another one. 5. The attention to detail for the wrapping is spot on. There's even a blue accent on the cork grip seats. Cons: 1. The color. Sky blue doesn't fit my matte black aesthetic. The quality of the blank makes me colorblind though. 2. No designated hook keeper. It looks like you can hook your lures onto the reel seat screw but do what you want. TL:DR - If you need a fast action MH rod, just get this one. If you go to cabelas or sportsman's warehouse or your local big box store, you're looking at the very least $200 for something comparable. Save your money to buy more tackle or line or upgrade your reel. ... show more

  • Small and thin rod
This rod looks good and comfortable to hold. However, I don’t think this fishing rod is for a big fish because this rod is small and thin. I think this fishing rod is good for fishing small fish. Good thing, I got this fishing rod when it was on sale.
