The media could not be loaded. This just took my morning flock routine to another level and saves me a lot of time and energy! I originally ordered this Multi-Use Seed Spreader for using it with seed & fertilizer on my lawn, but then I realized when I took it out of the box, that it would serve a better purpose if I use it for spreading Scratch Grains for my flock of Chickens & Ducks in the morning. I was right! It holds a lot of seed, so it saves me a lot of walking back & forth from the bin in the coop to their outdoor enclosure where I drop the grains for them. It's easy to fill and the 3 different options for dispensing makes it great for controlling how much of the grains are being dispensed. Before I ordered this, I would use a big scoop that I would have to traipse back and forth 2-3 times to refill, which required me to enter and exit the coop, while also navigating through a flock of 50 birds all trying to get at the grains without me tripping over them. The scoop that comes with this dispenser is great for ease of use when filling. It even has a little loop for hanging, making it easy to stow away. For my set up, I just take the lid off, and just scoop the dispenser itself directly into the bin where I store my grains to fill it. Easy Peasy. This Dispenser holds enough scratch grains for me to only make one trip to feed the flock. It is light weight but the plastic itself seems quite durable, so I think it will stand up to daily use just fine. It's not flimsy at all. The lid twists on and off with a single quick turn. It's secured in seconds I'm ready to go. I played around with the different dispensing settings until I found just the right one, and now just keep the dial set where I need it. I use it every single day, and the amount of time and energy it has saved me has truly been a game changer. Dealing with MS, every bit of energy saved is a really big deal for me. This helps me work smarter and not harder. I think this will be a great tool for all sorts of use in the garden and even for spreading salt and sand on our walkway the next time we have an ice storm, too!

I picked this up specifically to deal with winter cleanup, and it has been a solid addition to my garage. I bought a huge box of ice melt salt and quickly realized how awkward it is to spread by hand or with a cup. This handheld spreader made that job much easier. The adjustable opening lets me control how much salt comes out, so I am not dumping piles in one spot or wasting product. I used the larger setting for my driveway and the medium one for sidewalks, and both worked smoothly with no clogging. The size is another plus. The 84 oz capacity holds a good amount of salt, which cuts down on refills when covering larger areas. It feels light in my hand even when filled, and the handle is comfortable enough that my hand does not get tired halfway through the job. I also like knowing I can use this later in the year for grass seed or fertilizer, so it will not just sit around once winter is over. In summary, this spreader does exactly what I needed it to do and makes spreading ice melt faster and more controlled. Well, generally speaking this guy is ok but it does not do spreading with any accuracy. The accuracy is as good as the sensitivity of you hand or skill. It's good for salting snow and ice but if you are looking to plant seeds such as grass, you will only get an even distribution if you are very patient and careful as there is no flow control as in the devices meant for seeding. So its' functions are limited but acceptable for certain purposes. The item is sturdy enough but given there is nothing really special here, I don't think it's worth anything near $23, I give it 5 bucks at Ollie's or Harbor Freight or something. Lastly you can't really spread large swaths realistically, as in a driveway vs. a sideway, otherwise you would need to make wild swings, flinging stuff in many directions. Ok for townhouses or apartment complexes but not at that price.

This handheld spreader turned out to be exactly what I needed after our recent snowmageddon. It’s a simple, no-frills tool, but it absolutely gets the job done. The 84‑ounce capacity is generous for a handheld design, and the adjustable openings make it easy to control how much product you’re putting down. I used mine strictly for ice melt so far—grass seed will have to wait for spring—but it handled the ice melt beautifully. One of my favorite features is the included shovel scoop. It sounds small, but it makes a huge difference. Being able to load the spreader without spilling ice melt everywhere or getting it all over my hands is a win. Once it’s filled and the flow setting is chosen, you just shake it along your walkway or driveway and it distributes evenly.
