CONS: This is honestly super cheap. There are way better options for emulators out there. Some of the buttons don't even do what you expect them to do. I played Mario on it and it has 2 jump buttons for some reason- one that jumps like the original game and one that doesn't jump high enough to do anything. So odd. The battery compartment is glued shut and its so cheap that the plastic tab snapped off with one minor attempt to open it. Many of the games I tested WORK but not really. It has some crazy games that look like after-market edits like "SUPER MARIO BROS 16!" They are basically other games with sprite swaps. PROS: There really are 500 games. Ok I guess if you can get one working correctly.

Software: Some of the games are quite true to the original game, others not so much. For example Donkey Kong is very good (even though the levels are in the wrong order), but Contra isn't even close. It would be nice if there was a button to page up and down instead of having to arrow past all of the games on a page to get to the next page. With 500 games, getting to the ones in the 200-300 range can take some effort. Hardware: Main Unit: Decent size to play the games right on the unit. The texture on the unit completely hides the words that are molded into the body, so knowing which button is Select vs Start can be challenging. The controls are pretty good. Buttons aren't too stiff. There is no power or charge indicator. You can't tell when you're low on battery power and can't tell when the battery is fully changed. Second Player Controller: This is garbage. The buttons are SO stiff that there's no way you can play anything effectively. They are stiff enough that I flex the entire housing when pressing the buttons. The housing is so thin and cheap. Cords: Power: It's pretty short, but it's a USB-micro, so you can swap in a longer cord in needed. Second Controller: This cord is about 32in and is also USB-micro. AV Out: This one is only about 2ft, which is disappointing. If your monitor or TV has RCA inputs, it would be VERY difficult to play this on the screen with only 2ft of cable to work with. I'm running it through an RCA-to-HDMI converter, then to my monitor, which works well and the HDMI cord gives me the extra length I need.

This is the second one of these we've purchased because our kids love them so much. Great for long car rides. The adapter did not work with our TV so that was a bummer, but they're are literally 400+ games to choose from.
