This is one of those things you get to bring back some fun and funny memories. As soon as your friends or family see this, the stories start getting told. It was so great to see so many games we once played on a sturdy lightweight console. The graphics might not be great or even good but it doesn't matter much. We hooked it up to our tv with the enclosed AV cable and it looks great. This will make a great gift for darn near anyone.

Zero stars. Bought this for a student. A very pungent odor came out of the package when I opened it. The box containing the console was disintegrated and the smell burned my nose. The product looks somewhat intact but I do not want to risk getting any chemicals on myself to check.

First off, everything feels like super cheap plastic despite the claim it is ABS. The control contacts are also clearly not stellar as it is sometimes hard to get them to make connections.They’re the typical cheap on-PCB with rubber contact buttons. As for the LCD screen, it has some issues with viewing angles and orientation mainly due to polarization. I also noted that colors are often wrong, not the fault of the LCD, but it’s a problem with some games. Several games that I know well look quite terrible. The sound is pretty decent for the most part, but here and there I noted some quirks and faults here and there. While most games are quite playable, there are quite a few that have non-English versions only. There are also a few duplicates and some clearly modded games. And some games appear to have glitches that won’t clear with a reset. Speaking of the games, the list is super frustrating as it is stuck in a pseudo alphabetical order. It’s in weird chunks that are correct and then gets out of order in places and then back into order in a repeated sense. It’s very odd. And some series of games are spotty. They may have 2 & 3 or a series, but missing 1. The entire system does not stay in the language you pick on startup, so you have to choose every time which I find obnoxious. There seems to be no way to access any system settings or configuration, so you’re just stuck with the list order, language selection process, and other things that should normally be adjustable in an emulator. The physical device is a pretty nice size, but much smaller than an original Gameboy, but that’s just fine as it easily fits in a pocket and is more portable. I really want to love this thing, but there’s some super annoying things about it. That said, I'm sure I’ll get plenty of hours of enjoyment out of it, as will my kid. Overall, for the price there is a lot that can be overlooked!! It’s stellar for the money. I just wish there was an easy way to access the ROMs or add my own, etc.

This is my first bootleg handheld game console, so my review is coming from the point of view of a newbie to bootleg but someone who has played Switch and other mainstream. That being said, this is not a bad little console at all. The best part for me is it has the classic games I grew up with like Burger Time. Not sure how popular that was, but I only remember ever playing it in a little pizza shop in southern PA. And Galaga, that was my jam at the dentist while waiting in the waiting room. Anyhow, besides the nostalgia, it's decent quality for the price. The material is cheap, but so is the price. The games are just ROMS scraped off the internet onto a chip, but you can scrape up the funds to buy it from under your couch cushions! Really, the old adage of "You get what you pay for" doesn't really apply here, because you actually get more than your money's worth. The downsides are there though. The controllers aren't very responsive, and on occasion they just flat out don't take at all (sucks for Burger Time and Donkey Kong especially). The screen is pretty washed out and goes back to the small screen days of handhelds. The hardware doesn't allow you to save game, and the stupid menu puts you back to the main screen every time you exit a game leaving you to scroll through the 400 game list for each new game you choose. Still worth the price, but I had to drop a star for the frustrating issues. But hey, it's a game. Just have fun with it!

I'm rating this with 4 stars because it generally is worth every penny of what they're currently charging. However, it's really cheap, you cannot save games and the controls are not great. For example, when running through Super Mario Bros, when you push down on the controller, it doesn't always go down. (Trying to get into the pipe.) So accuracy of controls are VERY frustrating. Same thing for aiming up and diagonally in Contra - it's hit or miss, but the more you press the control pad, the more likely you'll start running off the edge and die. But for the ability to get hours of entertainment and 400 games - it's pretty good. Please note that there are some games which appear to be in Japanese only, which is cool, but they're RPG type games (or so it appears), so the games are impossible to play. (Also can't save.) There are many retro consoles out there and this one isn't my first. It does have a decent assortment of games, plenty of NES and Atari games. I'm still going through them, so there may be other consoles represented. The names also don't appear to be 100% correlated to the original game names, so even if I posted the list here, it wouldn't necessarily help you decide. Bad - volume control stinks, screen can get washed out and it's very very light. Cheap kind of light - which may be good for you, depending on your view. With that said, it's a good time burner and my kids are already into it.
