In fact some days I put them on the inside pocket of my jacket and they worked to keep me warm. The settings are easy to use. But I'll warn you, the highest setting is a little too hot. 1 charge lasts about a week (2 1/2 hours use). I have little hands (child size really) and they still fit my hands well. My husband has nerve damage in his hands and in cold weather they hurt very bad. I bought these so he could warm his hand while he is working outside and for hunting. They get really warm and are rechargeable so he doesn’t have to replace batteries. They really only get warm on the top side but you can just rotate them on your hands. There are so many positives about these little hand warmers- the dual charger, the way they fit together, the slimness that allows them to slide inside the palm of my gloves, the way they adjust from low to high heat, and the fact that they last for hours. I was devastated when I thought I had lost these out of my pocket on a rock picking trip. Looked everywhere. Two weeks after returning home, I dumped out my 2 gallon bucket to finally sort my rocks, and there they were at the bottom. Full of sand and exposed to water. I blew the charger slots out with compressed air and dried them off. Not only did they turn on and immediately produce heat, but they were still fully charged! Amazing. I am a northerner, a photographer, dog owner, hiker etc. I have used a variety of hand warmers over the years. Most work but aren't comfortable or you just don't find yourself using it. These fit your hands and there are 2 of them! The battery life is great. The heat is ample. I will often turn them on low, toss them in my pockets and forget about them till my hands get cold. They are well designed, nice to hold and not bulky. High is very hot and though it's rarely used, I am grateful for the setting when I need it. When they work they’re very warm and toasty. Easy to hold in your hand or keep on your pockets. I gave it three stars because one of the two stopped heating after only three hours. I thought maybe it went through the charge faster so I recharged both and the next day turned them on only for one of them to heat. Really disappointed they didn’t both last longer.
