I LOVE THESE socks. I am a horse rider and these socks allow me to ride more. I wish I would have gotten them a long time ago. Well worth the investment. The battery pack fits inside my tall riding boots. I'd have to unzip my boot a little to change settings, but I just keep them on the lowest setting bc that is all I need. The sock comes up just under my knee, I was worried they'd be too short by the measurements, but they are perfect. When I first put them on and walk around I can feel the wires a tiny bit, but once I put my boots on and get going the warmth is all I know. I wear women's size 7.5 and the Medium socks fit perfectly but on the snug side. Highly recommend this well-made brand. Quality throughout. My husband got these for me as a gift and it is the best gift ever. We will be giving these as gifts for many years to come.

My feet and hands get cold easily and I don't like staying on the hill as long as possible. I've been using a pair of Thermic brand socks for 2yrs and have been greatly disappointed in the performance. I decided to research and purchase a different, lower cost brand and stumbled upon Snow Deer. Based on the positive reviews and low cost relative to the Thermic and other high profile brands, I decided it wouldn't hurt to spring for $80.00 and try them. I couldn't be happier with my purchase. Skiing in temps in the mid-teens ℉ and on medium setting, my feet stay toasty warm all day. There is even plenty of battery life left. I suspect even at high temp batteries would still be good. The socks are well designed to heat around the toes (not arch or heel), and do what a heated sock should do. Not only are the Thermics much more expensive, they simply don't work. The only con about the Snow Deer are the material and thickness of the sock. While I would prefer wool socks, the synthetic material is fine since the socks perform so well. The Thermic socks are thinner and more comfortable, but again to not perform. To sum up, buy a pair of these and try them. If you're like me, you'll buy a second pair as a backup for longer trips and potential failure of the first pair. Good turns everyone!

I wanted to love these. I did not want to spend $300+ on the heated socks everyone at the ski stores recommended. I wear a 7.5-8 in women's shoes (38 in European sizing). Initially I purchased size M (I hate socks that are too small), but the sock was like 1.5" too long. Exchanged for S and while they were closer in size, they were still a bit too long. But more importantly, the toe area was so bulky that it felt like I was wearing my husband's sock, but with the excess material clumped up and balled underneath my toe area. There was no way to smooth it out in a ski boot. (I have pretty narrow, bony feet/ankles, so maybe the socks would be okay with a wider foot?) Might have been tolerable in a snow boot, but I decided to put this $80 towards the way-more-expensive but higher quality heated socks sold by my local ski store (Therm-ic brand). Never tested the heating element; I couldn't get past the fit.

I use these primarily when riding my bicycle below 40F. I previously used ski boot foot bed warmers, which required running a cable from the cuff of my cycling boot into the shoe, and the batteries were very heavy. These socks are much lighter and warmer with the added bonus they are still warm wool socks even without the heaters on. I usually keep them on low and stay plenty warm. They also use the same batteries as the glove liners I use and the buttons to turn on/off and adjust the level are much easier to get at while riding. The one downside is they are socks and need to be hand washed. That being said, I can actually ride slower in the winter with these (and heated glove liners) and not sweat as much, because I don't have to ride as hard to stay warm. Even if I had to buy a new set every year or two they are 100% worth it.

Ordered in July during a sale to use 6 months later during the winter. Tested by turning on and putting both socks in the freezer for 20-30 minutes. After that time, both socks were still lightly warm, though one seemed warmer than the other. I figured this was good enough to mean that both the batteries and the heating elements were fully functional. Fast forward 5-6 months, and I once again charged up the batteries and tried the socks out, this time by wearing them. On the highest setting, one warmed up (even on high it only gets mildly warm, by no means hot), but the other did not. I tried swapping batteries, but it made no difference. The batteries are fine, but the heating element on one of the socks is clearly not working. Probably never was. I tried emailing the company at an email address I managed to find on their website (not easy to find), but received no response. Some people seem happy with their socks, so my guess is they just don't have great quality control with some socks just flat out not working. I was hoping for better customer support, but sadly nope.

Nice fitting socks, stayed up well. QUESTION: When you are fully dressed in hunting attire, how do you turn off, turn up or turn down the heat?????????? Happy with the heat, just can't get to controls when needed. Sure hope they start making them with a remote or some way to operate once your dressed.
