For some reason these seemed more promising than other off-brands. I’m glad I gave them a chance, as they paralleled HotHands in performance. They are much larger than the HotHands hand warmers size, and one of these weighs twice as much as a PAIR of HotHands. One HotHands hand size weighs 0.6oz in the package and one packaged Volcano weighs 2.4oz I gave my buddy a couple of these while we were fishing and he left one in his pocket and fell asleep on top of it when he got home. The next day he told me it burned his arm lol. Not like, blistered up or anything serious but he did have a red mark on his arm in the morning. Needless to say, they get plenty hot when you leave them inside a pocket or something like that. I’m not sure how well they would perform in sub-freezing temperatures but I’m sure they would at least help a bit. I’d say it was about 50°F while we were fishing and it was great having a nice warm pocket for my hands while I wasn’t reeling in my line. ... show more

Bought a box for hunting and these are a bigger size and actually get warmer than hot hands and last a long time , i didnt actually keep track of the mime but there great. Can put them in a zip lock bag and squeeze the air out and save them for later.

These things are a waste of money! Takes about 45 minutes to get to maximum warming temperature which is not very warm. Does stay warm for very long time..but I expect pack to get warm right away like the competitor brand does. Competitor brand gets so warm that it gets hot. Tried several packs thinking I had defective ones..but all the ones I tried so far are garbage. I have a whole case now that is just sitting. Should of just coughed up the extra $$ for the original brand. ... show more

This heat pack has good size and last many hours but yhe heat output is lower than other brands I've used. After coming out of the field into the car the heat output then ramped up and felt 'hot'. A little disappointing. After initial use, the rest of packs have been good. We used it in 0 degree weather while deer hunting in Wyoming and it would warm our hands good. ... show more

Review of: **VOLCANO Heated Hand Warmer Pouch Hot Pack, Warmer for Women, Body Warmers for Cold Weather, Seat Warmer, Wrist Warmers|Handwarmers Cold Weather Gear|Football Hand Warmer|Fishing|Hunting** For some reason this warming packs are called "hand warmers", which to me implies you should be able to stick them inside gloves or mittens too keep your hands warm. This is exactly how we have used other HAND warmers in the past while skiing on frigid days. However, unless you have hands the size of a Yeti, and gloves than measure 8 inches across the palm, these hand warmers are NOT going to fit inside of your gloves. Take a look at my pic to see what I'm talking about. I don't have huge hands butt they's pretty typical adult make size hands. On the plus side, these warming packs work as advertised. Simply remove it from the pack and give it a few minutes to get going (by mixing with air), and the pack gets too a really nice temperature. I have tried several of these and can attest to them lasting for a good 14-16 hours before really losing their heat. The only other thing to note is that there is only one per package. So again, if you are planning to use these to keep your hands warm (probably by placing one inside of each pocket of your jacket or something like that), you will need to of them to do the job. So the 50-pack is really a 25-pack if you need to use two at a time. So while these work very well I have to ding them by a star since there really should have been two warmers in a package with each being roughly half the size of these. That would have been the perfect set of HAND warmers that could fit inside a glove or mitten to keep your hands toasty for hours. ... show more
