I have a lot of black watches and needed a watch to go with brown shoes/belt. So after searching the net I discovered Hamilton brand and this watch. It is maybe a little more formal than casual but great for any occasion and it is definitely beautiful and timeless. I like the styling of it most of all Hamilton watches. My only regret is that it is only 40 mm and not bigger. In fact I almost returned it because of the size but then I decided that huge watches is just a fad but this watch will always look great and classy/classic. And because of the white/silver dial it actually looks bigger. And my wrist is only 7.25 inch. And the quality seems to be very good so I expect to enjoy it for a long time. So I got myself 42mm Hamilton H38511553 Jazzmaster Thinline, which is also beautiful watch but more casual and less expensive quartz model, and wear this one for more special occasions. This is my most expensive watch so far and it is my favorite. The delivery was amazing - I got it the very next day even though I ordered late in the afternoon. So overall I am happy with the purchase and would recommend this watch and Hamilton brand in general. Too bad they don't make their leather bands in Italy anymore. ... show more

This is the perfect watch to complement my Rolex submariner. I am impressed with the Hamiltons quality and elegance. Immediately, I could see and feel the quality of this time piece. The watch looks great, but it doesn't keep time. I would have paid a lot less money for a bracelet. I've had this watch for less than a year. After just a day with me being very careful to keep the watch at full charge, it'll run 5-20 minutes fast. I'm starting to wonder whether or not this is a genuine Swiss movement. Trying to figure out how to return it now, it's clearly outside of the manufacturer's performance specifications and within the time period of the warranty. ... show more

Great watch though out. The only negative I'd have about this watch is how long the watch keeps time for. After about 24-32 hours of no use the watch stops. Not really a big deal, very easy to set. Over all a great watch.

    • Not automatic as advertised
I was given a beautiful Hamilton Jazzmaster Open Heart automatic watch for father's day. It looks great and has very good weight, but the automatic wind system does not work properly. It is supposed to hold a reserve charge for up to 80 hours but it kept losing time. It was sent back to Hamilton and after they kept it for 1 month and supposedly repaired it, it continued to lose time. I returned it again and received a replacement. Now, after 6 weeks, this one has started losing time. It is never off of my wrist for more than eight hours and I do manually wind it occasionally (although the auto-wind feature should handle that) the replacement watch still loses time. A $1,000 watch should be dependable but these auto-wind watches are definitely not. Do yourself a favor and much aggravation and by a battery powered watch. ... show more

The watch is simple which suits me well. It will stop if not weared for more than a day, then you need to wind it up and reset the time. Not very convinient.
