I would give it 10 stars if I could. Super convenient front water loading and easy to read side water level gage...even without my glasses! Love the swing out grounds basket. So easy to remove the basket, rince and replace. Also, I love the choice of bold or regular brew as we prefer and love the bold brew option. The carafe's no drip lip at the spout catches not only drips, but also any grounds that might escape during brewing. The time and programming are so easy and fast to handle. After my last Mr Coffee, I was going nuts with how laborious and tedious it was to set time or program. 😫 More on my new HB coffeemaker, it's a handsome design esthetically and just the right the right height to fit under my 14" upper cabinet. Last but not least, thank goodness this coffeemaker has no beeping alert when coffee is brewed or when 2 hour auto shutoff occurs!! I cannot say enough about how happy I am with this wonderful coffeemaker. 🤗

Easy instructions on cleaning. Easy to clean. I recommend using the filters and the filter tool. It makes a difference. The cleaning process is not only effective it is simple and will keep your coffee at peak taste. Brews are strong and quick. Bang for buck is really good. Quiet brewing. Cons Water Filters and filter tool are sold separately. Hamilton Beach should include them with this machine as well as the coffee ground basket. The pamphlet lists them as optional. They should be standard.

I had a quite old Mr. Coffee coffee maker with a square reusable basket that gave me many years of good service. It brewed very good coffee. The square basket, due to being used only serveral thousand times, was wore out and tore at one of the seams. I went to find a new basket for it and they are nowhere to be found. Bummer as that is a really good design. Yes, it is odd, but it brews really well. Anyway I did some research and decided on this coffee maker. The first one I received had something rattling around inside and I didn't want to take a chance and power it up only to find it was a loose screw that shorts out inside and burns down my house. It was quickly replaced with no hassle other than having to take the old one to a drop off point. It works well, but, and has a couple features I like. I like the top lid fill. It is designed well and when filling it doesn't splatter water all over. Whoever designed it figured out the right curves for water to pour and drain into the maker. The brim on the pot is plastic. I like this as I have a tendency to be clumsy and smack the spout on something breaking it off; however, this is a double edge sword. The plastic brim doesn't allow all the liquid to be poured out easily. It wastes a good couple teaspoons of coffee each time. The only way I know how to get those last two teaspoons is to shake the bejesus out of the coffee pot, but that would result in maybe one drop making into the cup and the rest spattered all over the counter. It also wants cleaning all the time. My water is very soft and doesn't build up like most other areas, but the maker only seams to track pots brewed, and not the actual build up in the machine. I am OK with that, but the fix to reset it is to unplug the maker, let it sit about ten minutes and plug it back in. Sounds easy, but then I got to reprogram the clock and make sure to set the maker on "BOLD" as that is the only way to make coffee. It really needs a reset button. Last thing I don't like is the water level is on the left side. The place I have my coffee maker is in an area where the left side is obfuscated. I am not going to change that as it would require a complete redesign of cooking area to include my microwave and other stuff I have near the coffee pot. Would really be nice to have levels on both sides. I have been using it several months and it brews good coffee. I wish somebody would come back with the square basket. That worked so well and brewed really good coffee. :(

Superb for now, and of course, it’s brand new. And I know that Hamilton Beach isn’t normally a brand we put at the top of the list where coffeemakers are concerned, but this has great features : things like, auto shut-off after two hours (my Mr. Coffee didn’t do that), a three way brew setting, and a reminder that it’s time to clean it! I dunno about you, but for me that’s a necessity cuz no way I would ever remember to do it! Five stars for innovative machine, with updates to follow as more time passes. Recommended!
