I bought this to replace our stainless round skillet which *never* had correct temps by the dial and was increasingly off-balance. This HB ceramic skillet is wonderful, the 4 legs means it sits perfectly level -- it's big and I can cook two different things each on their own side. Haven't used it much but the temperature control seems fine. Cleanup is a breeze. I would note that the cord is a bit short. Where I use it in our kitchen isn't a problem but others might want to check the length from their socket to intended space for cooking. ... show more

    • Great versatile electric skillet!
This skillet replaced one that I had for 30+ years. I love the rather elegant shape, which is really nice. Because of its three piece design, the temperature control can be used from either side by simply reversing the cooking pan. The skillet is large, and heats evenly. I have only had it for a couple of months, but because we are remodeling our kitchen and I am currently without a cooktop or oven, it has been used almost daily, for everything from spaghetti to hamburgers to eggs and bacon. I can cook eggs in one end of this skillet and bacon at the other end. It works wonderfully for preparing chicken Alfredo, too. I laugh and tell everyone I feel like a new bride, learning to cook in a single skillet. Nothing sticks, and clean up is so easy; we just wipe it out with a sponge and a drop of Dawn. It would go in the dishwasher easily, too, but mine isn't installed. Probably won't use it for my skillet anyhow. Takes more time than hand washing does. We use only silicone utensils to avoid scratches. The glass lid has a vent, too, but I really love the way the heating unit separates from the base, almost like a chafing dish. It's a lot bigger than I thought it would be so it's wonderful to be able to cook in. Easy to clean heats up nice and hot.

I love this pan. It’s exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a non-stick pan that wasn’t made of the thin material so often found in non-stick pans. This one is ceramic and so easy to clean. It also comes apart so that it’s lighter and easier to handle. I’m truly happy with it.

The base for the unit felt funny when lifting it. When looking it over I found 2 screws missing in the base that holds the handle on. I contacted the manufacture through their web site and have not gotten a reply. When I call the 800 number listed for support it tell me to use the web site contact or E-mail them. I could not find any E-mail address and the web support doesn't give you any option to save what you send them. ... show more

Came with a broken handle but a drop of superglue took care of that some we kept it. It works very well and is easy to clean.

We love this skillet. Easy to clean and food doesn't stick. The top separates from the base for easy cleaning. Should have had this long ago. Hamilton Beach made a great product! Would recommend.
