Quit working after 9 months. Extra cost warranty isn't effective until after mfg. warranty runs out (one year in my case). Mfg. wants buyer to pay shipping cost, both ways. I liked the microwave until it broke. No more online appliance purchases for me.

    • It's So Pretty - And Functional, Too!
This is a great-looking machine that has features galore. One that I was accustomed to in my last place but is missing from this one is that the beeper/signal sounds an alert after the cooking cycle is complete ... and then nothing after that. I don't like that because I am a multi-tasking person who can easily ignore the "done" signal, thinking "I'll get right to it", and promptly forget until I suddenly realize my formerly passable "TV dinner" would now require supervised reheating, which usually ends in tears from the overcooked results.     • Total waste of money. 2 months and dead.
We remolded our kitchen in a retro look and this red microwave fit right in. I also got the toaster and small toaster oven in the red Well, kitchen done and it finally came time to use it in it's "special spot". It worked great at first except for the loud roaring noise it makes. But it did cook well. TWO MONTHS after we started to use it my husband got up to heat water for his tea, and he said it started and right away it just quit. I mean no lights, nothing. DEAD. We used a different power source that we know works and nothing. I called Hamilton Beach and they asked me if I "did a recycle" ; what? They said to unplug it and wait a few hours and plug it back in. HA ha.... nothing. It was an expensive lesson for seniors on a budget, and the thing is that we gave our 5 year old great working old micro to my granddaughter for her college apartment. (Because we got a NEW one) lol 😡🤑 I see several other one stars and I feel for them. I do most of my shopping on Amazon, I mean everything, and this is only the second time I have been burnt. All of us at work chipped in and bought this and we couldn't be happier. It works great, and for the price, it's really big - much bigger than the one we had. It does great on those frozen breakfast sandwiches and just everything in general. I can't forget to add that it sparkles when the sun hits the red part in the morning! When it comes time to buy a new one for home, or when my daughter moves out on her own, this is the one I'm going to purchase.     • LED IS DIFFICULT TO READ without flashlight
NO manual, LED KEYPAD is hard to read in low light. Odd clock set up proceedure etc. I wont buy another Hamilton Beach with led key pads until they make them light up. or easy to read.

Works really well, does just what it said it would do. Love the color. Update: Noticed the microwave had 2 dents in it after I set it up. I contacted the seller, sent pictures and they sent me a return label free shipping and sent me anither one no charge. Great microwave and great service.
