  • WYSIWYG in a good way.
Color: Black
"What you see is what you get" is the best type of way. I bought this expecting a dependable budget microwave because it looked like one, and from what I have experienced so far it has been one. I've been using it like I've used every other microwave, except this one is MINE. For a first microwave, this thing wasn't a bad pick at all. Quite the contrary. It's plug and play level easy to install, has good enough lighting for late-night microwaving in a dark kitchen, and, despite how it may seem, is versatile enough to have you covered from everything to softening your potatoes before you fry them to thawing meat. Don't expect to be able to fit multiple courses here, because this is a microwave on the smaller side, but rest assured knowing it's still large enough to do things like thaw a whole frozen steak. If you're looking for a small, lowkey microwave that can still get the job done being sold at a frugal price, then this microwave might just be the one for you. The appearance as is listed exactly 1:1, meaning no bait-and-switch marketing is going on here. The color is good too. While I can't speak to the long-term reliability of this item quite yet, I can attest to how it's not given me any issues resembling mechanical failure since buying the item. I personally am not the biggest fan of the door lock, but I can totally see how it could be useful in places where you don't want people that wouldn't be able to figure out how to get past the lock anyway to burn themselves on steamy hot food. While it may bug me, it could be a major selling point for certain buyers. I'm giving this appliance a five star rating because I cannot find any reason to give it any less — and not even that lock is going to make me take a point off, seeing as how that's on the buyer for purchasing fast and reading minimally, not on the product for having a feature. All in all, I would highly recommend this microwave. ... show more

  • Small but mighty
Color: Black
We had a RecPro microwave for RV's, and after 2 of them went out for different reasons, we decided to try something totally different. Our other microwave was a 1.0 cu ft. This microwave is smaller, but seems to be mighty. You should know that going to a 700 Watt microwave has a few setbacks. It takes about an extra 6-9 minutes to cook rice, soup is still mildly warm after 4 minutes. This one was interesting to program the clock, be sure to follow the manual. The door lock is automatic and has to be taken off. if you don't want it on. You open the door when you press the buttons to do that. The manual explains the process. The turntable is cute. Seems to be pretty good so far. Just takes longer that's all. ... show more

  • Great microwave - But Removed the Plastic Film!
Color: Apricot
I bought this microwave nearly 6 years ago. Within the last year the paint on the bottom cracked where the wheels of the tray holder go round and around and I can see rust forming near there and around the bottom areas of the door. And now I think, I think I know why. We like this microwave, the style and size fit our kitchen decor and so, I bought a new one just like it to replace it even though I could expect the same problem to show up 6 years from now. Except - upon getting the new one I learned that the entire exterior is covered in a thin covering of plastic. And so was mine from 6 years ago! I never removed it back then. All this time not only was it covering the exterior metal surfaces, the vent slots on the left side were completely covered too! I think now, perhaps, that this resulted in keeping moisture from getting out of the microwave and promoted the paint separation and rust to form. A few of the Amazon user videos show stickers on top of their microwave. Seeing them tells me they too have not removed the film as the stickers would be removed along with the film gone from the surfaces. I hope I’ve resolved my past problem from being a future one. Instincts tell me to still be on guard of any moisture forming and collecting on the bottom interior surfaces. I have noticed tgat rubber feet on the bottom have been greatly enlarged so that the microwave won’t be rolling around like the old one did. That’s nice. Thanks and good luck. ... show more

  • Way over engineered as are most appliances
Color: Apricot
Buyers remorse. Should have read the one star reviews .. have had a fire event in my house and don’t need another, Every item made today has some level of bad reviews. Brand names mean nothing. My ancient Emerson is back in its old place .. nothing today is made to last any reasonable time. Holding my breath on my 13 year old Kenmore Fridge ..when Kenmore used to mean something. Purchased this smaller size to fit a space now occupied by an early 80’s basic Emerson microwave which still works but may die down the road. People who think digital is more efficient and easier to use have not had the joys of a mechanical device, My old Emerson has three steps. A mechanical toggle switching between cook and defrost, A mechanical dial for the timer which requires only ONE motion unlike digital which often requires multiple stabbing to get where you want to go. And a on/off switch you just push which after over three decades does stick a bit. Still turns off when the door is opened to check done ness but engages when shutting the door instead of just pushing start again. This new item has a long list of power levels going up in 10% increments with absolutely no correlation to any function requiring such precise numbers, .. older microwaves often had Low, Medium or High settings which is infinitely easier. But precise wattage ala a regular oven ? Really? The “easy” presets for more commonly used foods or beverages belies the fact that they require very specific volume or weight for each setting listed. That means you must take time to PREP to make sure your amount matches the settings. More wasted time. I have a lot of mugs and many are hand crafted stoneware ..so they vary a bit with exactly how much liquid they hold. So I have to vet them all and designate which I can use on a preset? The instructions wisely say to monitor the device when in use so why have to fuss with presets? Just nuke it and test for doneness. As you would with any oven ..if it needs more time then do that. People are so enamored of digital …I used a two slice toaster once with a touch pad. Earrings on a pig Instead of a one motion mechanical dial to set toasting level. You had to stab at the touch pad ..even more annoying when you out the next two slices in you had to Re Set the toasting level because the device has no memory you can lock in. So a lot more effort to get what should be a simple result. My microwave needs are pretty basic and I guess I will eventually figure out what I won’t use on this new one… but, for now, I am in no hurry to do so. ... show more

  • Fantastic microwave.
Color: Classic White
I can read the display clock up close and and up to eight feet away, but I wish that the numbers were brighter and bigger so I could read them from across the room like I could my 14 year old Mainstays microwave that I bought from Walmart. Other than that, I think that the interior height is even a tiny bit shorter than my old 0.7 cut ft Mainstays microwave. The width could be a tiny bit narrower too. But this isn't a dealbreaker. The only real inconvenience is that I have to put less kernels in my silicone microwave popper bowl. But the microwave is a good size for me. I really like it. I like the 700w. It cooks food just like I want. I tried a 900w Farberware microwave recently and it burned my popcorn until it was black charcoal and made any food that I warmed up overly hot. I had to keep setting the power level to 8, which was inconvenient. But with a 700w, I can just use the default power level and enter the time duration that I want to cook or warm up food. I like the aesthetics of the microwave as well. The thing that I wanted to avoid the most was getting a metal or black microwave. So many microwaves claim to be white, but they have black doors and/or black panels in front. Not only that, but this Comfee microwave has curves instead of just looking like a plain white box. The colors, curves, and overall design are very pleasing to the eye. I didn't take the time to inspect the legs. Something about them seems a little off. But I know the two front legs are symmetrical and skid-free. So it's nice knowing that the microwave won't slide around on top of my fridge. On my old Mainstays microwave, there was condensation inside when I cooked popcorn or warmed up tea. I didn't notice any condensation whatsoever when I cooked or warmed up those things in this Comfee microwave. My 14 year old Mainstays microwave never had child safety locks. But every microwave seems to have that these days. This Comfee microwave has it, and so did the Farberware microwave that I bought and returned a week ago. But no one should ever complain about the child safety locks. It literally takes two seconds to disable it. You just press 7 once, press 9 once, and then hold down the Open Door button for three seconds. Then the display will show 'Unlock' and it will stay unlocked forever, even if you unplug the microwave later on. I can't think of anything else to include in my review. My 14 year old microwave had a button that you pushed to make the door open. This one requires you to pull the door open instead. I honestly think that having it so that you manually pull the door open might be better than a push button mechanism, because if push button mechanisms wear out they can cause the microwave to do unexpected things like start for no reason or keep shutting off for no reason. I just hope that this microwave lasts me for at least four years, or even as long as my old microwave did which was around 14 years. I plan to take better care of it than I did my old microwave, so who knows. Maybe it will even last me 20 years. I promise to update this review if it ever breaks so people will know how long it lasted me for. I decided to bump this from four stars to five stars. It seems stupid to deduct a star just because I can't read the microwave from 12-24 feet away. Most people don't need to read the clock from that far away. Since anyone can read the clock from up to 8-10 feet away, the display clock is good enough. ... show more
