Should I Buy It?

Yes, this microwave would be a great buy, especially for those in smaller homes, college dorms, workplaces, or just starting out. Its longevity, affordability, and compact size provide excellent value. However, if you belong to a larger household or often cook large meals, you might want to consider a bigger model.

  • Great buy!
Size: 1.1 Cu. Ft Color: Stainless Steel
It's perfect! Gave this to my mother-in-law for Mother's Day. She was using a 700watt microwave, had to run 1 item twice sometimes 3 times. Frustrating to say the least. This upgrade was exactly what she needed and has once again apiezed my mother in law. You can never go wrong with Farberware. They are a very good and well known company. The microwaves appearance is not at all intimidating. It matches the other appliances. Smooth functional and great quality. Doesn't take up too much space. Most importantly, easy to use, which was something I had to take into consideration, after all, I was giving this to a 78-year-old woman. Overall, a great buy for very little money. Two thumbs up! ... show more

  • The microwave is energy efficient
Size: 0.7 Cu. Ft Color: Black
The microwave I purchased was a good price and a good size. I didn’t need a very big one and it fit right where I needed it to be and it works great if anyone’s ever interested in buying one I strongly suggest one of these.

  • Simple, Basic, Small Microwave
Size: 0.7 Cu. Ft Color: Black
This is the classic, small, cheap, low-power microwave that has graced millions of dorm rooms, office break rooms and the like. If you look carefully, you'll see that most of these small, 700 watt microwaves have absolutely identical control panels, meaning that the guts of this one and most of the others are likely very similar. I am sure Faberware licenses their name to whoever makes this, and the same factory in China probably makes most of the other ones that compete with it. A low-power microwave seems to be a commodity product at this point. So I would get whatever one is cheapest, in my case it was this black Faberware, but your mileage may vary. Advantages: It's cheap, it is very compact and good for small spaces, and because it has lower power it is less likely to trip a breaker than a full-sized microwave. This also means it is a good choice for an RV, cabin with a moderate off-grid power system, etc. I confirmed that even a Jackery 1000 can run it for several minutes without overheating, although it actually pulls just a tiny bit over 1,000 watts. The 700 watt rating is the energy going into your food, not how much power the microwave uses, I suppose. But even pulling 1000 watts, it doesn't completely eat the battery in the Jackery 1000 to run this thing, it goes down 1-2% per minute of operation, meaning you could absolutely power this in a power outage with the big Jackery power station or something equivalent. The disadvantages are simple too: It has a bit less power than a regular microwave so your food will take a bit longer to heat up. It can get stuff just as hot, it just takes a bit longer. That is really no big deal unless you are trying to microwave a frozen dinner and the recipe is designed for a regular, full-power microwave and you'll have to guess how much more time it will need. More significantly, the oven itself is pretty small, meaning any oversized dinner plate or particularly tall item is not going to fit inside it. But it otherwise has everything a regular microwave has including a small turntable to help your food cook more evenly. Most people will step up to a larger and more powerful microwave as their daily driver. If, for whatever reason, that doesn't work for you, this thing is fine and it isn't really that big of a step down from a normal sized microwave. ... show more

  • Absolute Garbage
Size: 1.1 Cu. Ft Color: Black
Right away, it was just so loud, and the type of noise was unsettling. The door is sticky and annoying- may be bc of this new child-lock rule, but either way feels janky. THEN, it started shutting itself off part way into cooking things- appeared to be bc it was not venting steam at all? The inner walls and door would be completely covered with a ton of water, and would reset itself automatically after wiping it and airing out for a few mins. Plenty of clearance on all sides, so that wasn’t a factor. To be clear, this was not a power issue, as it was on a surge protector which was not flipped, and other items on the same strip were unaffected. This started happening more frequently, and after less time. Troubleshooting tips were unhelpful/irrelevant. I finally got fed up but then found I was only hours past the 30-day return window. My bad for not returning it after the first time it did this, I guess. Later the same day, this scary little nuke box, decided that it would turn itself on for no reason, and just stay on. No buttons will stop it, no time buttons work, except the “add 30 secs” does work the timer, but still doesn’t stop after the timer ends. It’s been unplugged for days now, and every time I try plugging it back it in to check- nope, still just running on its own. This is crazy right? ... show more

  • Excellent Full-Sized Machine - But Arrived Dented...
This microwave is pretty amazing. We got the 2.2 cubic foot model and it's huge. If you need a microwave with space for a turkey, a roast, or a large container of pasta, or perhaps 2 gallons of water, this is it. It's easily restaurant-sized with no size or space constraints at all. Second is the power. Even though it's advertised at 1100 watts, it's actually labeled as 1200 watts. It very quickly and easily heats food, coffee and other items. You will not have problems with insufficient power or cold food with this machine. Next, it runs pretty quiet, at least compared to our previous microwaves. Just the whir of the fan and a faint hum. The touch controls are sealed so cleaning is easy, and activating everything is intuitive and simple. While the electric door lock feature, for safety reasons, is a neat idea if you have small children, we found it troublesome. It's easy enough to disable, so it's currently a non-issue. The weight isn't too bad for a larger microwave, and I was able to lift and manage it by myself. The light inside was bright enough also, so this shouldn't be an issue for anyone. Our only complaint is that this arrived with a very small dent in the trim on the door. It's not a deal-killer, but it is annoying that a new item arrived damaged. We're not really willing to return it over this, but it would be nice if the distributor sent us a new door or perhaps a credit. Overall we're extremely happy with this purchase and look forward to enjoying this appliance for many years... ... show more

  • Nice
Size: 1.1 Cu. Ft Color: Black
Love this microwave. I’ve probably always had a super low watt microwave and this one is so nice and heats things up quickly. It has a safety feature on it that is not necessary in my house, but it’s a smart thing to have if you have little kids. It will beep if you don’t go take care of the food too. That’s kind of nice for those of us who may forget it’s ready. ... show more

  • Great in a pinch.
Size: 0.7 Cu. Ft Color: Black
Bought so I could use temporarily during kitchen remodel. Worked ok, just takes longer being only 700 power compared to 1,100 with above stove model, to be expected. Small items only, but did it's job. Will give to grandkids now.
