  • At least as good as a rear view mirror
What I don't like much: image is jerky, i.e. the framerate is a little jerky. Not enough to make it annoying, but noticeable. Color is off from the stock backup camera. Muted, less vivid. Objects in the viewer are much further away than they appear. Check your mirrors. On the other hand, we aren't watching a movie on this. We're checking traffic behind us. Works fine for that. What I like a lot: While driving in the middle lane on the interstate, the lanes on either side are visible. Better than they would be if I had a mirror. Changing lanes is a cinch. Where I installed it: Roof of a Ford Transit high roof cargo van. No rear windows but mirrors to die for. Even then, cars can just disappear behind you and you have to play a little game to see if they are there. With the camera, I just look. Because of the high angle, there is a dead spot probably 5 feet behind me, way to close. I found a fuse that is only hot when the engine is on and used an ADD-A-Circuit Fuse Tap Link to power both the monitor and the camera. ... show more

  • very good RV travel trailer backup camera
the short: wireless backup camera with very good daytime image quality and just okay night image quality Our travel trailer is about 35' long and there is some loss of video at times while using this as a rear facing camera while driving. No issues with video loss while at slow speeds though. Note that you will likely have to get a mounting bracket adapter if you're trying to put this on an existing Furrion camera mount. Also, if you have a newer GM or Chevy truck, you may also have to offer a Furrion 7 pin power adapter as many of the newer GMC trucks do not supply enough juice to power the camera properly. ... show more

  • It works!
OH my what a difference. I replaced my Furrion camera/monitor setup with this and I am beyond happy with the results. I can finally see what is happening behind me in wonderful color!!!. 7" viewing screen is clear. The monitor/camera paired automatically. When buying to replace Furrion system, make sure to buy the bracket that is sold separately. ... show more

  • This is the second system that I had to buy.
I bought this system in 2022 and the display just failed unexpectedly. To get my RV camera operating again I just purchased another complete new system. I contacted customer support to see if my bad display can be repaired or exchanged for another one but that does not appear to be an option. If this new system only lasts a year as well then we will suspect that the product is substandard. ... show more

  • Prewired Furoin vertical mount NOTICE
If you are installing as a vertical mount on the rear of an RV with a Furoin prewired mount, I suggest purchasing the additional Haloview UB001 new Version U Support Bracket for the camera. This is in addition the the Haloview Camera adapter for prewired RVs. If you try to mount using the U bracket that comes in the package you won't be able to tilt the camera enough to see further than approximately 10 feet behind the RV. The standard U support bracket doesn't allow sufficient room for the camera antenna when trying to adjust the camera tilt. ... show more

  • Great upgrade to our RV and car trailer
We installed this system in our Super C RV to monitor our cargo trailer. The RV already had a back up camera but we wanted something we could use behind the entire rig. RV is 38 feet Long towing 16 foot car trailer. We mounted the camera at the top of the rear doors of cargo trailer and took power from the running lights. (The parking lights must be on for the camera to operate). It works great. Perfect picture quality in motion. We like the microphone when we are backing in tight campgrounds. No more yelling and arm waving. The biggest con is the menu screen. It’s just very clunky design and requires clicking through multiple steps to make adjustments. But, once you’re set they way you like it, you’re done. Seems to me, they could really improve that part, hence the 4 stars. Like many report here, syncing the camera may take you multiple tries. But, it will sync. Be patient, use a small pin on reset button, and it should start up fine. After using this Trailer camera on several long trips, we decided to add the side view camera to the RV itself. We mounted them on the outside of our huge side mirrors. Wow! The side cameras totally eliminate blind spots. The side range of view covers multiple lanes. Really nice on those awful 4 and 6 lane interstate roads when you need to watch for idiots trying to squeeze in between big rigs. We mounted them by drilling into metal mirror frame and pulled power from the harness inside the mirror. There is a running light built into the mirror housing. Since the mirror housing and the camera housing are both black, it is a very well blended look. The extra power line we just coiled back inside the mirror as originally designed. For ease of repair we used plastic wire splice clip connectors on the Side mirror cameras so we could easily unplug, remove or repair the camera. Overall, very happy with the investment and performance. I do wish the halo view screen was more user friendly. The entire system shuts down when headlights are off. Therefore, you must run with lights on to use camera in the way we configured ours, but we do that anyway. Skills required to install are basic. If you’ve ever spliced a wire, you can do this. Good luck. ... show more
