- Coconut Husk Substrate for Reptiles: You will get six 1.1 LB compressed coconut substrate bricks with high breathability and good drainage. This compressed coconut chip substrate expands into loose coconut chips after absorbing water, with each chip measuring 0.41.5 inches. Its suitable size makes it a suitable bedding material for many tropical animals
- Superior Moisture Retention: Coconut coir has a soft texture that absorbs plenty of water without easily compacting. The coarse, chunky structure ensures high breathability of the substrate, making it suitable for reptiles that require high humidity and digging, such as ball pythons and hermit crabs
- Odor and Waste Absorber: Coconut fiber naturally helps absorb odors from reptile waste and absorbs liquid waste, keeping your animals' living environment cleaner
- Clean Living Environment: With a near-neutral pH, this substrate is soft on reptile skin and creates a comfortable terrarium environment for reptiles. It helps support natural shedding processes such as snakes and lizards
- Versatile Substrate: These coconut husk chips serve as a great bedding for a wide range of reptiles, including snakes, frogs, lizards, tortoises, tarantulas, and more. They can also be used as a planting medium to promote strong plant growth

Compressed Bricks
Color: 2 Pack
I recently purchased the Halatool 2Pack Compressed Coconut Chips Brick (2.2LB) as bedding for my pet snake, and it's been a great choice. The coconut husk material is natural and safe, providing a comfortable and humidity-retaining environment that my snake seems to love. The compressed bricks are convenient and easy to use. Just soak them in water, and they expand significantly, offering plenty of coverage for the enclosure. The texture is perfect—soft enough for my snake to burrow into but also firm enough to hold its shape and provide good support. It helps maintain the right humidity levels, which is essential for my snake's health and shedding process. Another thing I appreciate is that the coconut chips are dust-free, so there's no concern about respiratory issues. Plus, the natural appearance looks great in the terrarium, adding a nice aesthetic touch. Overall, the Halatool coconut chips have been an excellent bedding option. They're affordable, easy to use, don’t have any strange smells, and provide a healthy environment for my snake. I highly recommend them to other reptile owners!

Good quality chunks.
Color: 2 Pack
Clean, good quality and sizable coconut chips that’ll work for several projects. They expanded considerably and contained minimal dust and particles, so didn’t need much sifting or cleaning before use. I’m using them as an amendment for epiphyte soil and mixed into soil in a terrarium and they’ve worked great. Decent sized pieces that absorb water well and keep the potting media light and airy.

Good reptile bedding
Color: 2 Pack
I use this kind of substrate with my tortoises to help lock on moisture. It works just as nicely as other leading brands. It doesn't have a strong odor and the little odor it does have isn't unpleasant. The size of the chips is good and once decompressed, there is a lot of substrate! The chips are very durable as well.

Disappointed
Color: 2 Pack
The media could not be loaded. After seeing all the raving reviews I thought I’d give this a wirl. I make my own soiless mixture and needed coco chips. I had previously bought a different brand and was happy with it but it wasn’t available so I got this thinking it would be more chunky and have more chips, like in the pictures. Turns out the pictures are very misleading. It’s very shredded up and doesn’t have a whole lot of chips. I’m going to have to buy something else for my mixture.

as described
Color: 2 Pack
These coconut chips expand a lot and made a nice bedding for my ball python. It's fairly easy to clean up, and the two bricks of it have lasted me a long time so far. They are exactly as described in the listing, and appear just as pictured.

These compressed coconut chip bricks are great for our tortoise!
Color: 2 Pack
Natural coconut bark, maintains moisture, no odd odors, and decently priced. Using for our tortoise's bedding but would work great for an orchid substrate as well. Would recommend!
