I've never use rock wool before. I read instructions and watched a couple videos. I found these difficult to work with. They split apart and didn't stay intact when I tried using them.

This item is good and will work well in a pinch. But we ordered the wrong size. Those working with hydroponics will do well with these if they have smaller cups to grow in. Those with the Gardyn system will want the next size up.

This works good. Holds moisture good. Only issue I have is that it falls apart too easy when cutting it into individual pieces. Even with a sharp razor.
