This is quite heavy/sturdy and takes up just about the whole area, side to side, of a typical household staircase, so a little hard to maneuver - but it gets the job done… little intimidating as you are way up above you lower stairs… probably not for those who are really afraid of heights - but it definitely works and is extremely well made! ... show more

This platform does the trick. It's fairly easy to carry and easy to set up. It holds up to 330 lbs. And, it folds flat for storage. It's stable, meaning there's no shake back & forth when you stand on it. I set up my 6 ft aluminum ladder on it as well. For safety reasons, the make of this platform recommends using only their ladders which might be a bit safer. Obviously you must be very mindful of where you place your feet at any given time -- but just use common sense. The 2 front legs are independently adjustible, as are the 2 horizontal back extensions that rest on the upper stair or landing. It comes with an easy to understand manual written in several different languages. Even if you use this platform for only 1 project, consider all the money you save by not having to hire a handyman or painter. I had considered renting a scaffold, but I couldn't even find a model that was suitable for stairs. By the way, this platform also works on a curving stairway. I have light fixtures mounted above my stairs. Safely replacing bulbs is difficult. This versatile work platform is the answer. It is well designed, super stable, and strong. Its frame and legs are steel. The platform is plywood wit a nonskid surdace. It provides a level platform that will support a 4 step kitchen stepladder. German design and fabrication.     • Was hesitant don’t be!!
I used the platform literally right out of the box with no issues. It’s a terrific design that allows a lot of flexibility. I was hesitant because I wasn’t sure it would be worth the money. I was happily wrong and strongly recommend this product.
