Our first Hailo stepstool finally gave up the ghost after 20 odd years after accidental being run over in the drive. This is a sturdy, stowable workhorse of a stepstool is still the best. And it takes up no space.

There are other step stools on Amazon that look like this one and are less expensive, but the cheaper ones are not designed to hold this much weight ( up to 230 lbs). I like a step stool like this that is safe for anyone, as this one is. It folds easily and stays flat when closed. Very sturdy, no doubt about it. The only flaw which I would say it's not a flaw but just something we are not usually used to when folding it back for storage. Once you get used to it, there no problem. Compact enough to fold away and store but big enough to get the job done
