  • A Best Buy in Cam Buckle Straps
If you’re looking for a professional-grade cam buckle strap at a reasonable price you need to look no further than what’s on offer at the HACCOPLANET STORE. Their 8 ft, 4400-lb break strength-rated cam buckle is the real deal when it comes to tying down valuable cargo OTG. ADVANTAGES * The cam buckle tie-down design offers a no-hassle, PDQ solution for securing loads. * Length adjustments are easily made on the fly. To tighten or lengthen the strap, simply pull on the working end. To shorten or remove the strap, press down on the alligator clip to release the working end. It's as easy as it gets. Indeed, tying your shoes takes more skill than using a cam buckle strap! * 1.5 inch wide webbing that has a thickness just under 1/16 inch (1.2mm). * MAX working distance (length between the two S-hooks) is 83 inches. * MIN working distance is 19 inches. * Stout, PVC rubber-coated 1/2 inch diameter S-hooks with spring-loaded safety latch (to prevent hook for dislodging). * Rugged alligator clip with 6-rows of sharp teeth for clamping down on the working end of the strap. Firm spring ensures a deep bite. Once set, it’s set! * Both ends of the strap have a sewn-in soft-tie loop. DISADVANTAGES * Cam buckle design relies on manual pull strength (and leverage) to tighten the strap. Makes if more difficult to pre-load, or stretch the webbing to prevent the strap from loosening due to load shifts. * The safety latch in the S-hook reduces the clearance that’s available for connecting to an anchor point. Especially non-conventional anchor points, like the side rail of a trailer. I love the cam buckle design, and have owned my share of straps over the years. But I can say without doubt that the HACCO-brand cam buckle strap is by far the highest quality I’ve seen. And at the price of less than $15.00 each, it’s definitely a value BEST buy. I endorse this product with a 5-star recommendation. NOTE: The 8ft length that’s cited in the listing refers to the total strap length from end-to-end. Not the working length. ... show more

  • Heavy duty straps.
A man needs to have some good tie down straps on hand. I primarily use ratchet straps for securing loads, but my dirt bike needs a special kind of tie down. Cam lock straps such as these from Hacco are just perfect for securing a motorcycle in the bed of my truck or trailer. They come in a fairly nice box, suitable for gifting, and there's a carrying pouch included inside. The hooks on these straps are incredibly beefy. Much thicker material than any I've owned in the past. The little retainer clips may or may not come in handy...we'll see. The good news is that they are easily removable if you should choose to ditch them. The rubber piece on that retainer clip is likely to get lost at some point, but it won't affect the use of the straps much either way. The cam lock buckles seem to be robust and of good quality. The nylon webbing has a nice, tight weave that should hold up well to mud, sand, and dirt. Overall I'm very happy with the looks, heft, and apparent quality of these straps. ... show more

  • Good quality, longer length, and includes "soft loop"
I use a ton of these tie down straps on my truck and trailer. ATVs, moving furniture, appliances, etc. And these are definitely nicer than your standard straps. A lot of the ones I have are 6' and it's nice having this be a little longer at 8'. Some situations with these you can just use the single strap instead of having to hook 2 together. The cam and strap seem to be of good quality. I notice it's wider than typical straps. I was expecting it to also be a little thicker material but it's not. But for your normal loads I'm sure it's plenty strong enough. I have not had straps before with the "soft loop" included. You can see it one of my pics. With that loop you can put the strap around an object without having the hook touch the item directly. That's pretty cool, I haven't had to use it yet. But I can see it being perfect to prevent scratches on handle bars or anything else where you don't want the metal hook rubbing on something. Overall happy with these straps, paying a little more but also getting more. ... show more

  • Cam Buckle
I have a small enclosed trailer that I haul my motorcycle in. The original straps that i got from Reese were a quality strap and I felt mostly secure although a little skittish with the straps being only 1 inch wide. These Hacco straps are a hefty 1 1/2 inch wide. With my trailer being smaller it doesn't have much headroom so I have to duck and ride the bike onto the trailer. The beauty of these straps for me is the cam buckle, because once prepared I can stay on my bike, ride it into the wheel chock and tighten the bike down just by pulling on the straps, without ever getting off the bike until it is secured. My weight puts the right amount of tension on the shocks for hauling. The cam buckles are MUCH easier to use than the ratchet type (think one hand instead of two) and I have never had an issue with cam buckles loosening. But it is nice to have the added security of the spring clasp on the s hooks in case they were to ever come loose in transportation. The reason for the 4 stars is that although these straps have an attached soft loop I still have to use seperate soft loops because the attached soft loops are attached in a way that you can only pull down on the straps to tighten, which is counterintuitive to having the ease of strapping tight while sitting on the bike. The soft loops are to keep the hooks from scratching up things, (although the hooks do have a nice solid coating on them). I feel more secure hauling long distances now. And these straps can be used for many other things such as hauling my lawnmower. Oh and the rip proof pouch is a real convenience. Beats rolling the straps up or having them hang from the S hooks. ... show more
