  • Good quality
I don't slide the back piece on. So this lid is fine for me. The light sits on top. It looks nice. Easy to clean. Handle stuck on fine. Fish like it. I ordered 3 of them for 3 tanks, and 2 of them in other sizes. They fit Aqeon tanks.

  • Great Item
Fit my 25 year old tank perfectly. It keeps the evaporation under control. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for an aquarium cover.

  • Measure before purchasing!
This was the perfect fit for my 20 gallon long tank. I bought the tank probably 20 years ago and have no idea what the brand is. I made sure to measure before I purchased and it's like it was made for this tank. Almost every one of these bad reviews are from people who did not measure.

  • Fits my Aqueon 20 long better than the Aqueon lid
I have an Aqueon 20 gallon long that is currently home to more African dwarf frogs than should be in it due to breeding (which is wild, I know.) But all are happy & healthy. I had the Aqueon equivalent of this lid to keep them from busting out on dangerous adventures. In an unfortunate mishap while doing a water change, my lid broke and I found myself in need of a new one. The exact replacement was not available for me from here or either of the pet stores near me. So I went with this one. It cost $10 more than the Aqueon. Upon arrival 3 days later (a day late), the shipping box was very beat up and open. When I pulled the product box out, there was no rattling, so I assumed it was not broken. (Spoiler: it indeed was not) However, this item was very obviously a return. The packaging was clearly retaped, and the lid itself was only wrapped in 2 sheets of air pillows taped together with packing tape. But, everything was in the box and nothing was broken or dirty, so I went about installing it on my tank. This thing fits my tank perfectly. Quite a bit better than the Aqueon lid. The glass itself is thicker & seems sturdier. (However I’m sure it would not withstand a full adult stepping on it either) The plastic for the back is still a pain to get on properly (admittedly, it is like one millimeter further to the left than it should be, but that was the best I could do) but it cuts way easier for cords than the Aqueon lid did. I read reviews before I ordered, and did see quite a bit about broken handles, so I proactively ordered an Aqueon handle, which had done me no wrong on the old lid. As expected, one of the handles did come broken. There are 2 in the box, and while one of them is not broken, I used the Aqueon anyway just to avoid any issues in the future. Took one star off for the handles, otherwise I couldn’t hope for a better lid (except maybe one that comes with the back plastic piece already installed lol!) ... show more

  • Very Satisfied
I'm very happy with the packaging, it was well wrapped in bubble wrap. I saw a review complaining of it not coming assembled, I received mine with the bending middle strip connected to the two pieces of glass, they were bent closed to fit the box. There were some complaints of the lifting tabs, I received a clear, nicely shaped tab that is attached with strong double sided tape, though I only received one for my 30" but I'm okay with that, it's strong, just give it some time to really stick after you put on the lid. I will say that the seller emailed me asking if I've measured to ensure this will fit, I replied saying I have and determined this would be the best fit. It is true to the dimensions stated. They state to measure to the nearest millimeter, I didn't, I just estimated that if my 29 gallon tank is 30" x 12", I need something roughly that size and I liked that this was high quality tempered glass so I bought it. It ended up being slighting too small but it still fits and wont fall in the tank; its just not a snug fit. The plastic back is a bit shorter than the glass, but it worked out for me since I had to cut it to fit my filter and heater anyway so I could just put the plastic on the end anyway. As for length, the plastic strip doesn't reach all the way back but as I said, my tank is a bit weird Ig so it'll probably be fine for you, It's connected to the glass so it doesn't fall in anyway and does it's job. The sizing issues are on my end, the company is very kind and responds. So I'm very happy with my purchase and will likely order from them again. This review is after a week or two of having it on my tank ... show more

  • Good glass lid for aquarium
This is a good product. Our aquarium is exactly 30" by 12" (not sure which manufacturer, I won't be surprised if it was a terrarium before it became aquarium, we got it from our neighbors). The build- in LEDs in our previous plastic hood burned, so we looked for a replacement of the hood and the lights. We found this glass one for about $31 here on Amazon. I knew that this aquarium hood is smaller by about 1inch than the width of our aquarium (see my photo with a ruler/ measuring tape), so we also bought clips to hold this hood (clips can also be seen in the photos). Clips I had to buy separately. There are many of those plastic clips around, for example NestBasics, https://a.co/d/9OrHVGF fitted our rim in the aquarium, $10 per 6 clips was my price). It worked well! The plastic part of this lid (see my photo) can be cut out to accommodate automatic feeder and the filter. We got the LED lights separately for about $10 for two pieces including a plug (For example, LED Grow Light Strips for Indoor Plants Full Spectrum 3500K, 96 LEDs Plant Light Bar with 3/9/12H Timer, Dimmable,13 Inches, 2 Head https://a.co/d/3bToLbj ) To have the lights OVER the glass lid is literally a life saver, I always worried that when the lights are on the INNER side of the aquarium lid, the wires become corroded and there was a danger of electric shock both to the fish and their owners. I also like that the lights over the aquarium glass lid can be moved and we can stick them (with some tape) anywhere we want, so we can create more light over our plants, while leaving shady places for our shy red-eyed Tetras who tend to avoid light (I tried to capture this Light-and-Shadow effect on one of the attached photos). This light is dimmable so we can adjust the intensity enough for the plants but without blinding our gentle aquatic creatures. So this glass lid allowed us to update our lights and make the aquarium safer by isolating the lights from the water completely! ... show more
