Great starter metal detector. There have been times when you used a screw or a metal piece outside, and I wish I had a metal detector to find it. This actually does make locating a screw or metal piece really easy to find. Assembling and disassembling the metal detector is quite easy; the included bag allows you to put everything into this bag. I wish the bag was a little bigger, because some of the items are very snug when inside the bag. This might be me because its new and I haven't figured out exactly how everything should fit. The detector has different functions for finding certain types of metal, so you are not digging up junk or treasure. The included headphones are okay, and you do not need to use them if you do not want to; the sound from the detector is loud enough to hear it without headphones. The shovel or pickaxe is okay; sometimes it does not stay locked into place, so when you dig, it can collapse back. I would use a different shovel. Overall, it is a really good beginner set, and I have enjoyed using it. ... show more

This is a nifty metal detector. It’s easy to use once you read the instructions. It’s light weight. I took this metal detector out on a walking trail where I believe I lost my ring. I was unable to find said ring but I did find a belt buckle and a lawn mower blade. I staged my gold necklace under some leaves and was not able to recover it with this metal detector. I will admit there may be an operator’s error. I will continue to run test in hopes that this metal detector does in fact detect jewelry. ... show more

This metal detector will be out at the beach looking for change! I've always loved detectors as the hobby if fun and sometimes you stumble upon some small change loot! This detector offers another way for my to enjoy a few sunsets while being on the sand. I've had detectors in the past, but nothing that is as simple as this is to use. It started working right away and was rather easy to understand how to use, thanks to the included directions. Putting together the metal detector took me a little time. I was extremely careful to follow the instructions and it came together without issues. The machine is lightweight. You can adjust the height to fit how tall (or like me not tall) you are. The panel is big enough to read and easy to understand when out in the field. Additionally, the head or bottom of the detector is big enough you can cover a large area looking for coins and such. This means you don't have to make narrow passes and you cover more ground quickly. The machine seems durable as you move it around you feel like it's an extension of your arm in some ways. Definitely love this metal detector and I've already found two quarters and four pennies on my first try at the beach. Treasure hunting with metal detectors has always been a hobby of mine and I will be using this machine to continue my quest to find a buried treasure (actually, I'm happy with spare change too.) I'd recommend this metal detector to anyone who is getting started in the hobby and wanting an easy and fun machine to get started. ... show more

Love it! I have been wanting one of these for the longest time! I have seen people using them at the beach and the park - and always envied them. Now I have my own, and it is awesome! I have only used it on a walk in my neighborhood - but it found some interesting lost trinkets (nothing expensive, but definitely metal!). It distinguishes between the types of things it finds by the numbers on the screen (see instructions). There are headphones to use when your surroundings are noisy, such as the beach with waves - or when you don't want others to hear the machine beeping when it finds something! I find this to be a very cool feature - so others don't flock to you when it beeps just to see what you have collected! There are many attachments you can use with it - some it comes with and others are available for purchase. It has accurately found items I put out to test, and others I did not know were there. I am very happy with it and am really looking forward to using it when camping or at the Bay this Spring/Summer! Recommend. ... show more

first off the box is really giftable and cool looking. Take that further, the color is almost decorator quality and nice retro touch to a metal detector that is one or two steps above a beginner model. For one, the coil is larger than expected and would help it cover more range both on the surface and more depth. I found that it is pretty accurate to about 18 to 20 inches. Second...this has a metal discriminator which takes it a level up as it can be set to only detect precious metals. It is not as good as some I have used, but those models were well over 5 times the cost and at this price point, this feature is rare and will save you much digging. Also have to say that I love the color display as it makes it easier to see and use. Even comes with a set of headphones. ... show more
