This is an interesting little gun safe. Although I live alone, I plan to use it in my bedroom for those times when my daughter and grandson are visiting. Better safe than sorry. I really like this safe, but the first thing I did was silence the key beeps. It was easy to follow the instructions to do that. Then I changed the factory password. And then I set it to open with my finger. At one point, though, I managed to delete the factory password and my fingerprint, so I was really glad to have the physical keys. Oh, and let me tell you about those keys! They look like little pocket knives. Really too cute! The foam cushions on the top and bottom of the case were quite welcome, but the sides aren't padded and I did hear my gun clunk against the side of the interior when I picked up the case by its handle. But that's an easy fix with just a bit of foam and some double-sided tape. I just have to remember to leave a hole in the foam so that the blue interior light won't get covered up. I do think that blue light will be very helpful if I ever have to access my weapon in the dark. All-in-all, this was an excellent purchase and I highly recommend this lock box for storing one or two handguns.

The case itself is well constructed and solid while the steel cable and carrying handle make it even more useful. It has biometric, digital, and key entry, which are nice options. Can be easily charged with the integrated USB-C. While the instructions are indeed not very intuitive, one can easily figure out how to set it up. The video helps at the outset. Great value for the money, portable and easy to use. I was so pleased with this purchase, in fact, that I picked up two more. At this price point, and given the strong value, it makes sense to have one in each vehicle (in the event that it’s needed) and to have a third on hand for easy portability and to take elsewhere e.g. in luggage, etc. Recommended.

The product seems to be quite solid for the price-point. However, not a 5 for 2 main reasons. The instructions are minimal. A “quick-start” flowchart would be a great addition. The 2nd thing that could be easily improved: The foam that is in place is fine while the security box lays flat. However, as a reminder, it is a box with a handle which makes it quite adept to grab and move to a car or from a car to the house. BUT - the very limited foam depth and resiliency would not be protective with that movement. Yes - I can buy after-market product foam to enhance those characteristics- but then - that’s the point - it could easily come with both the softness and depth for better travel security for whatever valuables are being transported. It’s only day 2 and so-far so-good in other main areas to include the rechargeable battery, the lit buttons, the finger print capabilities. Overall, a good purchase and a decent product.

* After returning an approximately $5 cheaper safe (which I won't name) because it turned out to be a glorified mechanically keyed-only and flimsy-lidded lockbox with an unworkable pushbutton number pad... I let the moths out of my wallet and got this $63 triple-unlocking method (really nice keyed lock, pushbutton numbered code and well-functioning biometric 99-entry memory capacity finger print reader) ACTUAL GUN SAFE/CARRIER! *Bonus features: (#1) heavy-duty, full-length, side-mounted, leather carry handle, which makes easy/'stylish' transportation of completely configured weapon system, for range and PDC purposes; (#2) adjustable-loop cable lock for securing that system to framework beneath the driver's side seat for PDC or to the frame of my 250-lb garage workbench; (#3) this safe is forgiving of minimal 'bulges' in contents, without compromising actual security of the well-designed lid (no pry points at bulges, due to curvature of lid design)... * I use this safe exclusively with my Ruger Max-9, "limited diet"+9mm-capable (NEVER with +9+, per Ruger), with attached (excellent!) Wolfprowl "shake wake" red dot (c. $80 from Amazon, see my review); loaded, with 12+1 JHP self-defense EDC configuration with thumb safety engaged; stored in my (excellent!) Sticky Holster's IWB/pocket holster ($28 from Amazon, my review still in progress, cuz I'm a firm believer that there's no such thing as 'TMI' or 'TLDR' when it comes to LETHAL weaponry). Also in the safe: 4 additional fully loaded 12-rd mags (1 mag of brass-cased 124 grain FMJ for range training, 3 mags of brass-cased 147 grain JHP for self-defense; one small, plain Cross, for every soul involved; pair of lightweight shooter's/driver's gloves; and a laser training cartridge w/ spare batteries & required spare rubber 'snap cap' momentary triggering mechanism/battery cap... In short, this gun safe/secure carry case will handle everything you can reasonably need for whatever scenario you can reasonably come up with at this item's wallet-friendly price point... Summary: (for the 'TMI', 'TLDR', 'looking down the barrel and racking the slide while checking for misfires' types) This is the one -- the ONLY one you need -- for above industry standards security features, functionality, flexibility and especially cost of ownership. It is well-balanced and equipped for hand carrying with its leather full-length handle, instead of having to hug a 10-lb brick everywhere or else leaving it in one permanent location... Just buy one. Followed the "instructional" video, to setup fingerprint, seemed like it went well there is no signal, light or beep that it went well or it failed, stil it opens with any finger. Tried it several time, also tried to setup password, well the password did not open the door, but the fingerprint still open it with any of my fingers after resetting and starting again several times with same results. I ended up removing the battery and using the keys, now I have to keep track of a physical key !!! Most likely I will return it for a full refund.

Cannot believe the quality product I received for the price I paid. Instructions and programming are unintuitive but easy to follow and effective. Other than instructions having a learning curve, the device performs flawlessly and is VERY heavy duty and ridged, I have complete confidence in this lockbox (I have the numeric pad/fingerprint combo version).
