I bought this just for the lighted mirror. It has an on/off button on the handle that is fairly easy to press. It lights up the mirror just fine. The mirror is not glass and can't be sanitized with alcohol. It works as expected.

This is a nice oral care cleaning kit to have 8 around the house. It comes with a high intensity lighted anti-fog mirror, a scaler that helps remove stains, tartar & plaque on tooth surface & a explorer that dislodges food from between teeth and at the gumline. I bought this for the mirror. I found it difficult to maneuver around the back outside molars. It worked fine for the rest of the teeth. The light worked well, you could see inside the mouth. It's not overly bright. I wish it would have come with a pouch to put the tools in to keep them together and clean like some of the other kits on amazon being sold. ... show more

The light on this is not very useful. It is a dim florescent style light and the location of it on the mirror does not actually shine much light into the mouth. The cleaning tools themselves are flimsy where they attach to plastic handles--can feel the metal parts moving around while I use the tool.
