I really really like this little set of grow lamps. For the small size, it packs a wallop! I love that it includes a customizable base- either a spike for placing in soil or a solid metal base. The only problem I see is that the item description states it’s “not waterproof” which seems like it could get problematic if placed in a plant that needs a lot of water. I didn’t have problems with the light in my eyes- like any high powered light, do not look directly at it! I got it for my sister who lives in a bedroom with no windows, and I think it will be perfect for her. The remote control comes with a battery and a plastic protector you will need to remove.     • Design that stick out rather than compliment the plants
I like the two bendable lights that can be changed to suit your needs. These lights, however, do not have casings around the light that shield your eyes and beam down only on your plants. Unless you place them on the floor level, its light really bothers your eyes. There are orange plastic parts on the light that are distracting and looks tacky. I want the lamp to be as unobtrusive as possible and do its job, which is beaming down the light and making my plants the focal point. The photo with the gray is here because at first I didn’t see the screw in area on the extension because I just looked on the one side. The shocking thing for me was how small this product is compared to others of its kind. However, what I found is that it puts out the same amount or more than others that are twice as big. The reason is that it has the same amount or more than other clip on lights that are twice its length. You can see that in the photos I have shown here. In the close up photo, you can see that the LED lights are place in sets of 2 side by side. In most other products, the lights are place one at a time in a line. So, the resulting light put out is beautifully strong as you can see in the photos. For my usage of these over seedlings, I must bend the lights to be perpendicular/at a right angle from the tops of the seedlings so that they all have direct light above them. So, I have placed the measurement tape there on the counter so that you can see if that height fits your needs. Others of you will be angling the nicely flexible lights, while others of you will be placing them vertically so the other photos show those uses so that you can see if this is the right product for you.     • My chives love it!
I have some chives growing on my counter in a mason jar, and every single day I bring them to the window and let them get sun then move them back to the kitchen (I don't have a lot of natural lighting lol) So when I found this I got pretty excited at the prospect of just letting them stay on the counter and get some artificial sun (and reduce *my* back and forth) I've been using this a couple days now and my chives couldn't be happier! They've grown faster in just these couple days, and their green is getting deeper again. I can tell that bit of evening sun just wasn't cutting it for them, so I'm very grateful to find this when I did. Now we can continue our symbiotic relationship as strong and healthy as ever! lol I will say, be careful because my eyes hurt pretty bad bc I was silly and didn't wear eye protection while setting it up and trying to get the lights to point the best way for the plants. So maybe if you need to look directly towards the light wear sunglasses? Otherwise, everything is actually pretty easy to figure out, though the instructions are there and helpful. I like having the remote, but there's also a panel on the cord for easy use. Overall this is a definite win! ... show more

Very compact light setup. Simple assembly with option for stand or spike. Relatively ugly orange tabs on lights and connectors. Useful remote controls not only brightness and spectrum but timer too. Flexible arms, This light is bright! Fortunately, has a ten-step dimmer to get the right amount of light without blinding everyone. but may not be suitable for a spot in direct view. I bought to use as a desk/windowsill light but is a bit bright for that - will use in a more unexposed corner. We are growing a range of herbs and vegetables at home and our climate requires that a few stay indoors in the winter (and a handful year round). This helps us to keep them thriving throughout the year, especially the larger plants that do not fit in our hydroponics planters or "farm". It has three different light color settings. It's smaller than I expected but seems to have good light output. It is perfect for my needs. Fits well on a table top. The build is pretty good, it's sufficiently sturdy for what it does.
