Went all electric for my tools and now my yard equipment as well. Cant express how much better it is. Makes thinks so much more simpler and easy. Even suprised my stuborn father with the greenworks chainsaw cutting better than my gas husquavana chainsaw. Batteries have def come a long way.

    • Plenty of power!
I am a battery powered skeptic - I purchased a Ryobi battery powered trimmer a few years ago and it just didn't cut it....returned to big box store after less than 1 use. I bought this one bc I have the 60V battery for the leaf blower which I've had for years and love. Not sure about battery life yet, but I was pleasantly surprised this cuts through thick crab grass when edging just as good as my gas powered Ryobi but quiet and smooth and no fuel hassles!     • Absolutely blew me away!
I didn't have great expectations for this, but it uses the same batteries that the mower uses so I figured I'd give it a try when my gas whacker broke. This thing is freakin' amazing! I have a flat acre of yard that is bound by chainlink fence. That's over 800 feet of whacking against a chainlink fence (which is brutal on line!). I used a blade system on my gas whackers, but this one came with free line, so I used it. Guess what? After whacking the entire perimeter twice, I'm still on the line that came with it! The battery lasts as long as I care to use it at one time (45 minutes - it was still running when I was done) and charges in about an hour. I'm blown away by this thing! It's light, it's quiet and it's powerful! My wife loves the mower and I love this whacker! ... show more

    • Lack of cuetomer service
The string trimmer is close to the best I have ever owned. A lot of power and battery life is acceptable. However, two weeks ago the string cutoff blade broke out of the guard. Apparently Green works has switched from identifying the produce by model number to a SKU. Some items do show comparable SKU's on their website. I was not able to locate the ST60L254 SKU on the website. Also the website did not recognize part number R0201881-00 which is the guard assembly. The first time I called the recording kept referring to their on-line chat but it was always offline. Eventually I used the option to request a callback, but that never happened. I tried again today to call for information. After a half hour I gave up. Got tired of listening to the recording referring to the online chat that was always offline. Never got the option for a call back this time. Since telephone is the only way of contact, (No e-mail for customer service), I will not be adding to the greenworks line until their customer service is straightened out. Right now the only option I see is to consider the items as non-repairable. ... show more

I got tired of messing around with my gas trimmer and decided to try this battery powered trimmer. I already own a battery powered leaf blower so I can use the same batteries in this tool. So far so good. The trimmer runs and work great and power is sufficient for my large lawn. I would recommend this trimmer to a friend. ... show more
