Impressed. I was doubtful of its abilities after years of using 4 stroke gas powered blowers. But, after seeing many reviews and videos, I decided to get one after my 76cc 800cfm gas blower died. First impression was it's weight. Easy to put on and take off. Next is it's power. Just as good if not a bit better than my old gas blower. Plenty of power for general leaf clean up and was powerful enough to get leaves out of shrubs and creeping juniper ground cover. Battery life: After 20 minutes on my first use with it's included 4Ah battery, it was still running fine, but I did notice a little drop in performance. When putting it on the charger, it showed almost depleted, but charged back to 100% in about 30 minutes. I suspect that it would have easily continued running for another 10 minutes with the original charge. Sound: Incredibly quiet compared to the gas blower. If you're contemplating switching from gas to electric, I'd recommend it with this unit for it's light weight and strength. I've ordered an additional 6Ah battery for which I'm hoping to get 45 minutes run time. Together, I should get just over an hour run time -- enough for sprucing up, and general leaf removal. Since I have many trees on the back of my property, I'll leave the heavy duty leaf cleaning to my landscaper in the fall. But for keeping the property cleaned up and before and after the heavy duty leaf cleaning, this unit will work well. The Turbo Boost is awesome and will get those hard to remove leaves in shrubs and ground cover too. Well built, well engineered -- and NO OIL, GAS, CHOKE, SPARK PLUG, and PULL STARTING! Just pull the trigger. And because it's electric and not gas, I can store it in my basement and not expose it to the elements of our garage. Highly recommended. ... show more

This machine is a beast. Every bit as powerful as my gas blower. The only trouble with the electric blower is they run down eventually. This one is good for 45 mins. tops. Very good wind velocity. Right up until it quits. Fire up the gas blower until the battery recharges. Or like me order a second battery. Not cheap though. I have to recommend this machine though. If they can make one that goes for 2 hours on a single charge you would never need the gas machine. Never pull a starting cord again. ... show more

I used to have some trust in Greenworks (I have 7 of their 80V tools), but this trust is quickly eroding. Specifically w.r.t. the two product I bought most recently -- this backpack blower and the lawnmower (with a motor so weak that it stalls every 10 yards on the same grass its 4 year-old Kobalt cousin never had any issues with). The minimum shoulder strap length on this backpack blower is so HUGE, that it's still loose on me despite adjusting the straps to the shortest length -- I am 5'10" 165lb, but it looks like this is designed for spherical people that are 7 foot in diameter. Same for the hip belt. Why would anyone even have a hip belt on this? This is not a 60lb hiking backpack! And I used to have a Kobalt 80V blower (made by the same company) and it did not suffer from any of these issues. My 11 y.o. would work with it nicely. The 2nd thing is missing parts: This came without the bolt and the wingnut to attach the control handle to the tube and without one of the hose clamps to connect the straight section of the blow tube to the flex section. What kind of quality control is that?? And to get these parts it took 3 calls to Greenworks (with the requisite 30 min hold each) and I am now outside of the 30-day amazon return window while still waiting for the hose clamp to arrive. ... show more

    • Works Well But Has a Few Problems

I fell down while blowing leaves with my old backpack gas blower. The fall shattered the frame (the blower's, not mine) and I decided to invest in a new blower. I'm 73 and wanted something with a little more power that wasn't too heavy, and I didn't really like mixing and storing the gas. This seemed to fit the bill. I went and looked at some of the most powerful electric backpack units and I couldn't believe how heavy they were. This one is about 4 lbs. heavier than my old backpack blower, but isn't too heavy for me. It actually works very well and it has good volume and pressure for a homeowner. I live on a 4.5 acre woodlot and have about 800' of gravel road to keep clear as well as the pine needles and leaves that collect around the house and fence lines. I also like the chest strap which wasn't on my gas blower. It keeps the shoulder straps from sliding off. So far, I've only used it twice. I'm not crazy about the harness and straps. They seem overly large and stiff compared to my old blower and they 'cover' the hand hold at the top of the frame which I use to store it on the wall. That makes it a little difficult to get it in the right position to push it on the tool hook. I wanted an extra battery and couldn't believe the price. It was literally $20 less than I paid for the whole blower (blower, battery and charger) which I got on sale. I got lucky and finally found a genuine manufacturers battery for well less than half of the manufacturers MSRP. The big negative for me is that it was a nightmare to try and connect the tubes past the throttle handle. They are very slippery, didn't want to go together and were nearly impossible to spin and lock in place. I finally got them together, but they seem a little sloppy. I'm going to put some tape around the seams. The manufacturer needs to pay attention to this problem. These are the reasons that I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. One final thought is that my gas backpack blower lasted 15 years and was still going strong until I fell and broke it. I don't really 'feel' like this blower is going to be around for another 15 years - but I don't think I will be either - so it doesn't make much difference ;-) ... show more

Today was first use of this back pack blower on dry fall birch tree leaves. Assy of the unit was easy, weight on back much better than anticipated. The blower hand grip control is very nice and a plus includes a battery indicator a very nice feature. It performed 2x-3x better that my goto and very good handheld big GWorks blower. So far beginning of fall is looking much easier to deal with the leaves because of this system! ... show more
