This works exactly like it should. It's pretty compact and easy to use - just slide the black part onto the battery, and BOOM, you've got power. I haven't tried it under any extreme loads or anything, but it's pretty quiet (quieter than others I've used hooked up to cars), and it seems relatively efficient. It's hard to guess what kind of power you should expect from this (obviously dependent on the battery), but I don't feel like it underperformed at all. I have a couple of Greenworks batteries and no Greenworks tools right now, so I actually got this for emergencies/power outages. I had owned it about 72 hours when our power went out for an extended period of time, and it worked great to power a fan, charge some phones, etc., so it's filling exactly the need I got it for. I haven't come across any concerns yet at all (heat, efficiency, etc.), so all in all, I'm really happy with this little guy. ... show more

Very happy with this product makes it easier for me to go fishing by myself as the battery is compact and much easier to carry than a 12 volt! Works well battery lasted the whole trip on the lake fishing. Easy to work and attach. Love it!!!

As long as your batteries are fully charged this comes in handy with then power is out or while camping. I took it on a family camping trip. It charged several phones and used to power lamps. I used a 5ah the whole weekend. It wasn't in constant use, but it was in demand when it was needed.

Having invested in the Greenworks ecosystem, this inverter is perfect for mobile electronics. Works well for small electric fans and accessories, even charged small laptops. Never even noticed the fan noise, but it has only been used outside with lots of folks around. A 5-star review would have been a pure sine wave inverter, and I would have paid extra for it. Otherwise, a great accessory to have around. Update: July 20, 2022 Attempted to use it to power a blender (1000 watt). The blades did a partial rotation and stopped. The inverter became very hot - no smoke or smoky smell. Just stopped working. Probably fried the board. Oops :( Lesson learned. This is for very small electrical devices with small current draws in a pinch. Not Greenworks fault at all. It died doing something that it wasn't designed to do. Otherwise, use a more powerful inverter! LOL! FYI, plugged the blender into my Jackery rated for 200 watts and it blended the ice like a champ. Go figure. ... show more

    • Shorted on first use... waited over a month for customer service... gave up

I purchased this due to power outages in this area. Figured it was a perfect option since it used the same battery as several of my yard tools. I plugged a battery in and turned it on to make sure it actually came on. Less than a week later... BOOM... power outage... I grabbed the inverter a battery and a lamp. The lamp never came on, but there were some interesting smells. Panicked, I disconnected everything and figured I would send an email to customer service once the power was back on. Mind you, this all happened in mid 2020, which you may remember was "challenging" for all of us. 2020-06-03 - purchased 2020-06-05 - received \ basic testing 2020-06-11 - power outage \ burning smell 2020-06-12 - contacted Greenworks Tools 2020-06-19 - contacted them again since nothing other than an automated response had shown up 2020-07-05 - window to return product elapsed 2020-08-06 - received a response requesting more information I thought I had provided 2020-08-06 - got frustrated and ignored the message 2021-02-16 - finally stumbled upon the email again, and sent the information even though I thought it was redundant. At this point, I don't expect much to happen since so much time has passed, but who knows. ... show more
