  • Fantastic Machine
Size: 16" Mower (4.0Ah)
I received the mower today. Took about 15 minutes to unbox and assemble the handle. I already had 40 volt batteries from another Greenworks tool so I put it right to use. Set the blade height to 3 inches and started trimming around 83 green giant arborvitae trees that I recently planted. The mower did a perfect job in near 8 inch tall grass. I ran it for 40 minutes, almost constantly, and still had some battery left after completing my job. The mower is light weight, easy to operate, has excellent safeties, and is very powerful for its size. I'm very happy with the purchase. ... show more

  • This is a nice small battery lawn care package.
Size: 3 Piece Combo (4.0Ah + 2.0Ah)
I use lots of Greenworks tools and have a basket full of batteries at this point. I generally love their products and am pleasantly surprised with this one. The blower is a solid hand held blower, better than the other two Greenworks blowers I have. The trimmer is a single line spool, but a capable little machine. It isn't very long, so if you are tall, you may hate it. I'm sort of short, so it fits me fine. The mower is my first battery mower. I use a big gas bagger, but it is heavy and hard to work in the tricky spaces. The green works mower is light and you can easily do ditches and humps and places larger mowers don't reach. I use it to clean up around shrubs after I trim them. It makes a nice clean edge, almost like a larger weedeater would. It doesn't hold a bunch, so you have to empty it frequently if you are picking up lots of biomass. IT has good height adjustments, so you can run it low, like a golf course cut or run it high and take the top off of taller stuff. It worked nicely around my farm pond to make a nice crisp edge right down to the water. This is not the tool for a yard of thick grass, even a small one. It has its place in the lawn care tool kit and if you don't ask too much from it, it does its job well. As for batteries, the 4 amp batteries are the trick. The 2 amp batteries are OK, but if you are running something that used a lot of juice, they don't last very long. I have one 4amp battery that is still going strong after 7 years. ... show more

  • Excellant lightweight battery powered mover but the single 40V battery doesn't last long
Size: 16" Mower (4.0Ah)
This mower is excellent at cutting the grass if you have a small yard. The battery typically won't last long enough to either do your small front or back yard. I can usually get the 40V battery to last long enough to do my small front yard t won't but the back yard is slightly larger so if the grass has grown over one (1) week it won't last long enough to do the entire back yard. It only takes 2 hours to charge the battery back to full strength so I just let the battery cool down 10-15 minutes then plug it into the includes charger and finish up the yard a couple hours later. The mower is narrow and very light so it has no problem fitting through a narrow gate to go from a front to back yard and cuts the grass beautifully without all the noise of a gas mower. You can even pick this mower up with one hand if you need to place it in a mud room or something while you are waiting on the battery to recharge. if you I can no longer drive so a gas mower isn't an option for me as I have no way to get gasoline myself so the battery mower allows me to mow my lawn myself without relying on someone to get me gas for a gas mower. My only wish is that the battery lasted longer or they gave you a bigger or 2nd battery to use so you didn't have to stop for a couple hours and recharge the battery before you can finish cutting your lawn. ... show more

  • Great battery life
Size: 16" Mower (4.0Ah)
Our yard isn’t big (1500 square feet) but I’ve mowed it 3 times & there’s still charge left. Storage is very easy. I just fold it up & lean it against the wall in the storage shed. No gas, no oil, no pull start!

  • Will not run!
Size: 16" Mower (4.0Ah)
I fully charged the battery as instructed. Mower would start but immediately stop running. After several starts using the bail switch and the button start became very frustrating. It just would not run!

  • Excellent replacement for a gas mower!
Size: 16" Mower (4.0Ah)
I was apprehensive about switching to a battery mower out of fear that it just wouldn't be powerful enough and/or the battery would die too soon. I did a ton of research and decided that Greenworks seemed like the 2nd best battery mower brand behind Ego, but by far the best bang-for-the-buck since Ego's cheapest mower is $449. I used this mower for the first time a couple days ago and boy did it do a great job at proving my fears wrong! It's extremely light which makes it very easy to maneuver, and it cuts impressively well, with no missed areas and a nice, uniform level to the grass. I have a few bumps in my yard where my old gas mower would kind of chop the top off the bump and I feared this new battery mower would stall or struggle with that, but it went over the bump as if it didn't make contact with anything. My old gas mower was a 21" model so I feared downsizing to this 16" model would create more work to cover the same area. While I do have to make a few more passes to make up for the decreased width, it's barely noticeable and now I can mow into some tight areas I couldn't get to with the old gas one. Between my front and back yards, I have what I would call a medium yard, and I was able to finish all the mowing and still had 2 out of 4 bars left on the battery. This made me feel great and gives me confidence that I can do some extra mowing/yard work if needed. As a guy/dad, this mower also checks a bunch of "cool gadget" boxes for me. Not only does it look cool and sleek with the design and black/green colors, but clicking that big 4ah battery into the slot and hearing the blade ramp up after pulling the handle just feels good, like it's some futuristic toy. I should also comment on the bagging. I exclusively collect grass clippings in the bag and this mower does an even better job at packing the bag full than my old gas mower. I was shocked when I checked the bag and found it was tightly packed to the top with clippings. My old gas mower would fill about 2/3 full, then it would start dumping the clippings back onto the blades, causing it to bog down. I figured I would buy into the whole greenworks 40v system so I also bought the string trimmer/blower combo and am pretty happy with those items as well, although the 2.0ah battery that comes with that combo kit does not last as long, but it works just long enough for me to trim and blow the debris. One final plus is the noise, or the lack of it. It's not silent, but I didn't have to wear any ear protection like I normally did with my gas mower, and my family could keep the windows open while I mowed, opening up more opportunities to do yard work, like in the mornings and evenings. I held onto my gas mower until I had a chance to see how this new battery mower performed. Now that I know, my old gas mower will be up for sale shortly! I'll update this review if anything changes, but for now I'd give this mower a 5 out of 5. ... show more

  • Works fine
Size: 3 Piece Combo (4.0Ah + 2.0Ah)
Well I was able to cut my entire lawn on one charge, that’s .25 acre. The machine is not very wide but I got some exercise lol. Easy to push and I don’t have to pull my arm out of wack pulling a string! You can also fold down when not in use. I have not used the walker or the blower yet.
