One spool of cord and it wore thru the grommets on both sides (dual feed)! How this got past R&D is beyond me. Because it is a combo pack it is almost impossible to find a replacement part. I had to call Green Works and they gave me the part number. Green Works considers this normal wear and tear so the expense to replace is mine. Weed eater is only about 4 months old and as mentioned above this occurred on the first spool of cord. NOW: Green works says this this part is attached to the “spool housing” and I will have to buy a new weed eater. I have never felt compelled to write a review before on a product. This brand is complete junk. Used the blower 4 times and now it only runs for 4 seconds and shuts off for 10 seconds then starts again and runs for 4 seconds and continues until you want to toss the POS back across the pond to China. Trimmer worked very well until the battery, after 3 charges, refused to cooperate by charging which let's be honest its only job is ...CHARGING. So I contacted greenworks and I guess their policy is too work as much as their equipment does, oh wait I get a better results by using the blower for 4 seconds at a time.     • Works OK but there are a few issues.

Assembly was easy. Battery came to a full charge in just over an hour. It really isn't much lighter than my small gas trimmer but I don't have to mix gas and (sometimes) deal with the gas trimmer not starting. As far as cutting goes, I trimmed everything I usually trim with my gas trimmer on (according the battery charge indicator) half a charge. This would have taken about 1/3 of a tank of gas on my gas trimmer. It isn't as good as my small grass trimmer when it comes to the really heavy stuff along the shore of the lake I live on where grass gets a couple of feet tall. It will handle it, but you have to start at the top and work your way down. As the battery charge was approaching 50% the cutting power diminished. It was still OK but certainly this not work for the entire charge. I would estimate it will work OK down to 1/3 charge. I kept the trigger depressed when moving from one area so the auto-feed wouldn't waste line. The line held up very well and seems to be more durable than the stuff my gas trimmer uses. My biggest issue with this trimmer is this: The advertisement doesn't tell you which replacement spool you need. I purchased a Greenworks dual line feed at Amazon that clearly says "Fits all dual line auto-feed Greenworks trimmers" but it doesn't work with this trimmer. In fact, I can't find the one that does work with this trimmer anywhere on Amazon. The part number of the correct spool is 31101724. ... show more

O.K. I just received the product and put it in the use right away. Here are my learnings. My yard is a 3/4 acre with the pool, trees and some obstacles. Here is a deal. Trimmer working very good, power is adequate with 2.0 AH battery to do dry grass during the time when, yard is prepared for summer. Light trimming and edging is great and will do my yard. Trimming only for 2.0AH battery. Blower will go for long time and do very good job for 3/4 acre. If grass is 12 to 15 inch high trimmer can handle it also but 2 AH battery will last for for 1/4 acre. (Still good). I have a tons of tools and equipments up to tractor. I cannot say now how long it will last. ( I'll update in a year) So far, I will recommend combo as is for normal size of yard (60x100 ft). For my yard I will be buying 40V/5.0AH battery for trimmer. Combo is well made, easy to clean and maintained. Auto string feeding working well, just you need to get handle of it (as per manual). We will see how it goes forward, so far I like it. ... show more

After about a week and a half of researching electric yard tools I decided to give the Greenworks line a try. Started with this bundle because of cost and immediate need. Due to the constant rain we have the last several weeks yard was overrun with weeds and debris on my sidewalks and drive way. Spent an hour Saturday weedeating and blowing with no issues at all. Battery lasted the entire time switching between the weed eater and the blower. I was so impressed that I decided to purchase the 8” pole saw. Once again used it for about 1/2 hour of work, switched battery out and spent another 15 minutes weed eating. Just received my 4th item in this line (extended reach hedge trimmer) hurried up and used it for about 5 minutes just to test it out. It worked great as well. I have ordered a second battery but for my 1 acre yard. The one battery seems to do the trick, just want to add the additional battery so I can get a little help to get the job completed quicker. For easy lawn maintenance this line will do the trick. ... show more

Both machines work OK, but each came with a shortcoming. The blower was delivered without the front tube, I went to product support and was referred to the manufacturer which has failed to respond to two emails. The trimmer was listed with an "also purchased" Amazon recommendation of extra string;turns out the string was single rather than double line--I'll be reading the "also purchased" recommendations more carefully in the future. The double line that came with the trimmer was grey and very tough--unfortunately the line snags in the trimmer and the string container has to be removed and untangled. I made a separate order of the double wound string and it turns out blue and different than what came with the product. What I find strange is that the blower and trimmer both work well, but all the little backstories have made this purchase a headache. ... show more
