The Greenworks 24 volt 4 1/2" grinder is a very nice tool. It has a long lasting battery life and has very good power to work hard. The torque is perfect and not excessive for the tool, so violent kickback are minimal and easier to control. The grinder doesn't seem to get hot under heavy loads and is capable of powering through heavy cuts and grinding. I use it mainly with a cutting wheel because it is easier to control kick backs in tight spots. I wear safety glasses and a full face shield when operating this tool. #note to consumers, to Amazon and to all vendors offering this tool and similar tools in is class. A Full Face Shield should be made available for purchase as highly recommended safety equipment. ... show more

I purchased this angle grinder last year it has a 3 year warranty, I have sent a warranty message and will phone tomorrow. Forgot using there online messinging service it doesn't even recognize the model number. As you can see in the picture the black plastic button that needs to be depressed to change the blades just popped out the button has a spring in it the pull the locking mechanism up, right now it's in locking position so the grinder will not work. If I don't get a response back from Greenworks in a coupleof days I will update my review./// Update// after phoning Greenworks and sending the information needed for the warranty they will be sending me a replacement grinder very pleased with their response so I updated to 5 stars. ... show more

Grinder itself works great. Powerful enough for home projects. No issues at all with the performance.The deal I got was like getting the Big Battery Free.. Unfortunately I can only gave it a 4 star because warranty paperwork and owners manual were missing. The small service tool given to tighten the spindle SUCKS. that will need to be addressed but they are cheap. Greenworks customer service was awesome. Had to contact them for paperwork and registration. Registration was done with a call. Same Call had the Owners manual. it was sent immediately via E Mail. Highly recommend Greenworks tools. I liked the tool-less blade guard adjustment, brushless motor sounds solid and feels like an overall well-built and reliable tool. The handle is hollow and feels cheap, also a little short. If they could have made the handle a little longer and designed a crevice for the wrench to be housed inside the handle it would have been perfect. I like switches for grinding but prefer the safety of a paddle switch for cutting. I stick a 10c dime in the switch when I want it to act like a dead-man switch and turn off if I let go; adds an element of safety for certain applications. ... show more

I purchased this Greenworks angle grinder to help complete a free-standing covered porch project. The kit arrived as ordered, on time and with both a cutting disk as well as sanding/smoothing disk. Grinder and cutting disk worked as expected, which was to cut sheet metal roofing for porch to length. Satisfied with the kit and definitely recommend it as a portable easy to use grinder. Grinder works fine…when you can use it. The 4ah battery is garbage and won’t charge after maybe 10 full recharges. The 2ah batteries from my drivers have lasted years without issues but don’t last long on this grinder. Very disappointed.
