  • It works well
First use review. Used with a high quality 15A power cable. Grass taller than the mower in some places. At the end of the day it did the job well, and I have to admit I was expecting to be mildly disappointed, but I wasn't. So I hit issues I would hit with any mower when the grass is this over grown, a little booging down in spots but it never stalled. I did stop and tip it over once and clean out a bunch of stuck debris, but not because I had to just because I noticed nothing was coming out the side anymore.. it was still cutting just fine, the out thingy just got clogged but two factors I should have gone in counterclockwise direction so that the out thingy had a free path and two, my grass was still fairly damp from a rain the previous be day... This would have happened with most mower with those two factors. Over all it had plenty of power, did a good job even with alot stacked against it. I'll even go as far as to say the build quality is higher than expected as well, I guess time will tell on that front, but I'm keeping it as long as it continues to do the job for the next two or three cuts. Last thoughts, this is a heavy duty metal deck mower that is not self propelled, if your thinking it's a lite easy to push around electric, look elsewhere it's built like a tank, I like that about it, but I am still young enough to brute force a full weight mower up hill. My only complaint is that I feel like the foam on the handle is not going to wear well, would be far better if it was a rubber hand grip like the rubber on bicycle handlebars, this soft foam already has a small tear in it from 1 use.. I'll likely self replace with more durable rubber at some point. I'm also not crazy about the double on system, I'm sure it's there for safety but it's just a hair problematic and does sometimes need to be done twice to get it to latch on. Think in getting now though, well see. I will update if issues arise ... show more

  • An electric mower for the masses...
Purchased this for a new home. Wanted to reduce noise level and try something different. Cord management: Yeah, it's kind of a pain. But after a week or two of regular use, you get the hang of it. You've just got to learn your instrument. Starting: Easy. Push a button and pull back on a handle. Instant start. How does it mow? Better than a gas mower. This thing has eaten through five yard's worth of high grass and weeds without so much as a whimper. It has NEVER stopped, how matter how big a bite of weeds/grass I took. When mowing high grass, just press down on the handle, move the mower forward, and lower the blade directly over the grass. Easy peasy. It's light weight makes mowing easier (if it weren't for the cord, it's light weight feels like your using a reel mower). Is it quieter than a gas mower? A little bit. Make no mistake, it still sounds like a lawnmower. But a slightly more refined, less in-yo-face, mower. No gas or oil required; just a long extension cord or two. And if it breaks, I don't have to cry because my $300+ mower bit the dust. Inexpensive, but it definitely doesn't feel cheap. Also, the single lever blade-height adjustment is something that's been a long-time coming. SOMEBODY SHOULD HAVE THOUGHT OF THAT ONE YEARS AGO... GreenWorks has put a lot of brainal horsepower behind the design of this mower, and it shows. I'm a fan. Highly recommended. EDIT 9/27/2018: I found my only gripe about this mower: The clippings bag is too small. I'm used to larger bags that require emptying less often. Still, the bag works okay, but if you're mowing a lot, expect to empty the bag a lot. Also, the bag does taper toward the opening, which creates a jam point when emptying. This means you have to grab the clippings to pull them out of the bag. Otherwise, you'll be standing there all day trying to shake the clippings out of the bag. A minor annoyance, but not enough to dock a star. After an entire season of mowing some dense and very tall grass/weeds, this thing is still going strong. EDIT 11/2/2021: After 3-1/2 years, my GreenWorks is still going strong. Other than an occasional cleaning, the only thing I've done for it is to purchase a new blade that will go on next season (spring 2022). The absolute best money I've ever spent for a lawn mower. ... show more
