This is an amazing great quality product. Once ya get the hang of it with the pellets available to you, it works perfect! Pellets I have no idea what “Premium” means in the context of wood pellets. All the brands in my neighborhood claim they are premium. I think some must be more premium than others. 🤷♂️ Green stove recommends “SOFT WOOD”. Take heed of that rather strong recommendation. But first, let’s talk about why the type of wood hard/soft is so important. All I could find here was Hardwood Premium pellets from various brands. At first I just figured they’d burn colder, but last longer….but that’s not all. You’ll also get stinky smoke hopping out of your hopper. It won’t take long before your crawling on the ground looking for the zipper to the door. You’ll be smoked out very quickly. So, be sure to buy a smoke and carbon monoxide detector combo. Hang it in your tent. Test it to be sure it’s working as advertised and that you know what the numbers mean and the screen graphics. Where is the smoke from? Well, yes hardwood pellets burn cooler. That means that they also burn dirtier. If you are running at “half power” or less on the pellet basket feed, with any setting on your damper other than wide open, be prepared to have those hard wood pellets not burn completely. The pellets begin to cake up between the grates in the burn chamber basket. This blocks the airflow in the chamber to properly burn the pellets completely. The heat will cause the pellets at the very bottom of your hopper to begin to smolder. This begins a chain reaction of smolder, smoke, burn, cake, that cascades into a billowing smoke chamber. The airflow, with no place to go but around the burn pot, instead of through, causes the “draft” to bypass the pipe chimney and use your hopper as the chimney. What will help redirect the airflow is to close the side flap trap door, the actual air inlet. Tapping this flap closed will partially return the normal flow. But your problem still exists - the clumped ashen pellets blocking the burn grates. Eventually I made a probe from coat hanger wire, to clear the stuck pieces. This worked fine, but not as good as my last solution - a stainless steel table knife. Plenty long enough and sturdy to chip through the clumping pretty quickly. I got to the burn pot via the ignition access port next to the exhaust/chimney pipe. I just poked either the probe or the knife through the port and into the fire pot. Once cleared, the airflow returned to normal and the smoke was gone, although the stink remained. This isn’t a fault of yours, the pellets nor the stove. It’s just that the design doesn’t easily burn the hardwood to ash that falls to the tray. You need a much hotter fire. I learned that if I put the hopper to full on, wide open fuel delivery, and the damper wide open, the chamber will burn hot enough to turn the hardwood pellets to ash instead of clump. If you must use hardwood “premium” 🙄 pellets, you must also run the stove wide open hot n toasty. This, for me anyway, has stopped my smoke problem. No blockages, no smoke.🤷♂️ I ended up having to order soft wood pellets from the folks at our local Tractor Supply. They were exactly the same price as the hardwood 40lbs bag, about $6.00 with tax. I just ordered 2 bags. I wasn’t sure how this brand of softwood would behave. Once I had cleaned out all the clump and gunk out of the stove and had it running again, there was absolutely no problem using the softwood pellets. No clumps, no stink, no smoke, no problems. So, if you MUST use hardwood because nothing else is available, then be sure to run the stove wide open on the feed and wide open damper on the stovepipe. You should have no problems now.

Just got done with my test run for solo hot tent camping. I Used this with the preself 4-6person t3 teepee tent and a cot. My first time ever hot tent camping or really using a wood stove and I would've appreciated some numbers while researching what to get. Temperatures were mid 20's-low 30's it was very easy to assemble and use disassembly was a bit of a hassle fitting everything back in(take pictures of how it was shipped). Build quality overall great, seems like around 14ga sheet metal so nice and solid. Just be aware The hopper is built a little flimsy, but not problematically so. The feed settings can be hard to adjust, the pellets get in the way of it going up and down kinda gotta plan around how burned the pellets are Had it going for a total of about 40-44 hours never once had any smoke back track into the tent (just preheat the chimney stack once you get the pellets smoking) Unfortunately my thermometer wasn't working so I can't give accurate numbers but with that said I did some testing of it. Using tractor supply CO's hardwood fuel pellets I was able to get 4.5 hours of max heat settings which made the tent so hot I opened the top of the doors on both sides of the tent about a quarter of the way while wearing a thermal shirt and joggers with no socks in 28f° weather and that was before I backfilled the tents snow skirt Same pellets with low feed and damper at about quarter open I got about 8 hours out of it and with the snow skirt covered I found myself waking up warm enough my blanket barely covered me while it was low 30's outside Oven seems kinda useless gets way to hot even on lowest settings works great for toasting bread quickly though About a full hopper with these pellets created a full ash tray Also may be user error and incorrect pellets but it seems like if you let the heat get too low the ash will get caught and build up inside the pellet cage limiting heat output and ash falling correctly ( not a huge deal open damper up a bit or get a poker clear it through the ignition point. I Did not try out the wood burn function Novice with stoves so didn't want to push it but high settings will turn the entire top half of the stove glowing red had to damper down.

This will be updated periodically. For the record i have several stoves..... I'm not a newb. Part 1. 10-10-2025 Unboxing/Assembly I got the stove today, The box size surprises you, because they pack the heck out of it. Its boxed, in a box, then 4 sided foam, then in its case. Glass is separate, foamed and shrink wrapped and relatively easy to install in 2-3 minutes. It took longer to get the shrink wrap off without a knife. MOST of the parts have shrink wrap and some version of light foam protectant. This is NOT something you want to open and put together when you get there. Everything is protected for shipping. Nothing damaged, it comes in a nice looking case, but make no mistake... the stove is hefty. Not BIG, but hefty. The construction seems strong and rigid. Putting it together for the first time isn't difficult, but a little tedious. Its not like Ikea furniture tedious.... getting the parts together, the hopper and the amount of parts, especially the first time or two...... just takes a little practice. Thats the good news. The bad news. PRACTICE taking this apart and storing, and putting it together a few times before going anywhere. USE the video on you tube or Greenstove the first time, Because in a nutshell if you don't put things in the exact right way, you won't get it in. Its not bad, but they didn't leave much if ANY tolerance for error. Expect 15 minutes for starters.... probably down to 10 realistically in time with some regular use and practice. Also, there are 7 sections of pipe. THREE different sizes. You have to get the right size in the right place or they won't fit. In a nutshell. Everything is as expected. None of these things are deal breakers, just little things that if unaware, make the experience especially the first time frustrating MOSTLY due to user error. Recommendation for the manufacturer. As heavy as you already are, adding a half inch or inch to its over all width and height would dramatically improve its packability without affecting weight noticeably and aid in much easier repacking tolerances. Part 2 in a day or two. 10-11-2025 First real burn test. It goes together faster and easier, something to note. YOU DO NOT NEED a torch to light this. Matter of fact, I would prefer not. Its a simple matter of being smart about the stove. Using TWO pieces of your favorite fire starter, (fire stick, cotton wax, alcohol cotton swab whatever floats your boat) 1 in the exhaust half of the stove to preheat the stove and flume to create draft.... after a few minutes and you feel the exhaust heating up, take the 2nd one and flip the ash catcher upside down... making a platform to put the 2nd piece directly in front of the burn basket. I literally used a ferro rod sparking thru the hole to ignite my alcohol cotton ball. 5 minutes and the fire is roaring. I have two only minor complaints. 1. a slightly larger rear hole to also have better access to the burn basket for various reasons. 2. something to attach to your all purpose tool to push or scrape ash, pellets and anything else thru the burn chamber. Preferably something that that will also clamp onto a paper towel or rag to clean loose ash or soot. Part 3 10-25-2025 Long burn test. Started right up using two small pieces of fire starter.... my personal, cotton ball in alcohol. Burns clean, burns complete. One in exhaust half preheat, one under the basket on top of flipped ash catcher. Burned a full 9 hours no problem, no issues, no smoke. Assembly start to full light, under 10 min. Officially looking for accessories for cooking. couple major points of use: 1. If you don't want it to smoke at some point, your damper and burn basket settings must match. I have yet to have smoke back issues when they do. 2. HIGHLY recommend an induction fan or some other to circulate the air around the stove to heat your tent. 3. Like all tent stoves, plan on having a carbon monoxide/smoke detector in your tent.... the ash MAY jam up in your burn basket...and typically a simple knock to the base of the pellet shoot is enough. So you MAY find yourself waking up 3-4 hrs in the burn to adjust. as of Yet... I haven't had to however... it DOES happen. Still better than reloading a wood stove every 2 hrs.

SOOO COOL! Burns on a lower setting for over 9 hours. After a few dozen uses I will share the pellet quality dramatically impacts burn time. Cheap ones only last 5 hours good one up to 12. Pumps out a ton of heat and very limited smoke once properly fired up. Heavy construction. The carrying case is unusual and almost feels designer, gold zipper fake black leather. It works but feels out of touch with this robust stove. I’ve had small sub $100 wood tent stoves. This is way better. No more filling every 2 hours. Expensive but a good value. UPDATE: pellet quality matters and the size of the pellet impacts burn time. Cheaper broken apart pellets burn and fall through significantly faster. Good pellets = 9+ hour burn on low, bad pellets = less than 5 hour.

This is a great little stove. It comes with a very nice carrying case. The instructions for setup and use are lacking, even with the QR code video link. It’s easier to go to the official website to find additional videos. It’s also pretty intuitive, so not a big deal. My stove was missing one piece and I had to improvise, but not a big problem. Looks great, no smoke issues after about 10 minutes of the initial burn. Warms up fast, burns clean, and looks great! A bit pricier than other stoves, but the dual burn style is 100% worth it.

I've used tent stoves in wall tents from the back-country of Idaho/Montana to the western Rockies for over 20 years. This is one of the most efficient hot tent stoves sold today. Recently came back from Trapper's Rendezvous one of the largest Boy Scout campouts in the U.S. on the plains of Kansas in the middle of January. Outside temps were 10 degrees and the inside of our tent was 73 degrees. We were in a Kodiak (10x10) lodge tent and the stove setting was at the mid-range (medium) setting. The hopper burned almost 6 hours before having to be filled. We burned the hardwood oak pellets from Tractor Supply ($5.49 / 40 lb bag) used less than two bags over the weekend to stay nice and during the camp out.

The stove has a solid build and a design that makes it practical for outdoor use. The parts fit together properly, and the pipe system is straightforward to assemble. The front window is helpful for keeping an eye on the fire, and the top surface works well for cooking or heating food. After using it several times, it has performed consistently and reliably. Overall, it has been a good option for outdoor activities where a dependable heat source is needed.
