Awesome Popper!!!
We did a LOT of research to find a unit for our web and mobile development studio (eight bit studios) :) The Great Northern Popcorn makers stood out and this unit ended up being the perfect pick. The size is perfect for our team of 10-12 that our in the office. It's big enough to make things feel official and use official popcorn scoop shovels, but not so big that it's taking up a whole room. It took two of us all but 10 minutes to assemble. The separate switches for the light heater, kettle arm rotator, and kettle heating element are great. It's completely silent --and fairly quiet even when popcorn is popping out of the kettle. We have found it easy to clean. The stand with the storage door is tall enough to fit a standing Flavacol carton and deep enough to also include a gallon of coconut oil. This unit is ALL GLASS, including the doors! This was a surprise because we were looking at a more expensive unit from GNP that had etched glass and a smaller form factor, but was advertised as all glass including the doors --apparently in other units the doors will be a plexiglass and could warp from the heat? Overall we are loving it. We're still trying to get just the right combination of preheating the kettle, vs the oil and kettle or combining it all at once so that the popcorn isn't too chewy. So far we're getting really close by preheating the kettle for 3 min, then adding the oil with flavacol mixed in until it starts to steam, and then adding in the kernels. A quick tip for you rookies. Get the popcorn/peanut salt!!! The corn has a bit of salt with the flavacol, but the movie theater quality gets in there with that fine salt! Even better then I expected! A few issues..
I researched poppers for about a month admittedly it was quite challenging, I chose this one based on features, price and reviews. After receiving, assembling and using the Lincoln full popper I can tell you I am very pleased. Not that everything was perfect and I will list the issues I ran into. 1) the top garnish was bent(apparently from packing not from shipping)and I would say this is the weak point on this unit, now I am pretty handy and I was able partially disassemble the top and straighten it out, this repair added about 15 minutes to the assembly 2) There were loose machine screws and one had fallen out, I hunted down the missing nut and screw in the box reinstalled them and and tightened the rest of the screws I used a small Phillips screwdriver and a 7 millimeter wrench this repair was completed during the same time I used to straighten the top. The screws are under the cover I removed to to straighten the top garnish. 3) The axle for the wheels is short as mentioned by another reviewer, it took some time and patience but I was able to install it and it does function as designed. The fit and finish of the unit is excellent, the unit was mostly preassembled and the whole process including the repair took about 45 minutes. After complete assembly and a through cleaning of the inside cabinet and popper bucket (which is required because it was apparent to me that there was a thin layer of machine oil on all of the stainless steel surfaces) we added jolly time 8oz popper mix, the machine worked as designed and in a few minutes we had a bin full of fresh popcorn. Having said that there are a few things to expect; 1) fresh out of the popper the popped corn is a little moist from the steam released during the popping process so my advice is to open the doors a bit after popping is complete stir the popcorn a bit and let it sit a few minutes the warming light and warming tray will do the rest, after a few minutes the popcorn will crisp up nicely. 2) there are definitely more unpopped kernels during this process then there would be if I used a pot on the stove about enough to cover the bottom of the unpopped kernel tray. Aesthetically the unit is beautiful, structurally the unit is sturdy although the top could be improved, for me it wasn’t that bad to straighten, I have seen pics where they were badly damaged mine wasn’t and was easily fixed. We love our unit, we hope you will love yours also.

wonderful machine
I had some issues w/ this machine after i ordered it, The box arrived severely damaged, machine has a large dent in top and some scratches, axle was missing to attach tires on trolly, one plastic piece behind screws for door was broken one was missing, contacted place ordered from (discount tommy through amazon) and they sent pieces out took about 8 days to receive but I have to say once all that was resolved and machine was up and running I fell in love w/ it, very attractive machine (dent n scratches don't bother me) this makes the best popcorn i've ever tasted, I use it to sell popcorn at my local flea market and carry it home so we can enjoy wonderful popcorn at home as well, pretty easy to clean kettle is a bit harder but not that big of a deal, I will order another one soon.....reasonably priced :)

Still working and looking fine after more than 2 years on the job.
This unit does everything it's advertised for and what I needed. It arrived packed very well with no damage or scratches like some have mentioned. The glass doors lined up perfectly. I had one problem that I was able to fix because I work on electrical equipment but others may not be able to. The stirrer motor did not turn. I called the MFG and they asked me to take the top cover off and check the wiring connectors, I didn't find anything wrong, that the motor was getting 120 VAC as expected when the switch was turned on, and asked if a more qualified person could call me back so we could troubleshoot more and maybe send me a motor. They asked for a copy of my receipt from Amazon which I emailed. I received a reply saying since I bought the unit from Amazon they could not help me and my only recourse was to call Amazon and arrange for a replacement popcorn machine. While I was waiting for their reply, I inspected the unit more and found that the "start capacitor" on the motor was not connected well. I removed the wires, soldered them to the capacitor and the motor worked. I really like this machine, it makes good popcorn fast. I did also purchase the prepackaged popcorn that was recommended. While that sounds easy and convenient, I figured out real fast that it's hard for me to fit both hands inside to first squeeze out the oil, then later dump in the corn. Once I deplete this stock I will be using a measuring cup to dispense the oil then corn. In short, I'm very pleased with the product and the customer service, though they couldn't really help me. They said their contract with Amazon does not allow for them to send me parts. I do recommend this unit, but personally recommend you buy it right from the Mfg. so the warranty and technical support has no middle man, because repacking this unit would have been a chore once it was all put together. Update, 9/27/16, The unit performs perfectly at my local American Legion Post. When the popcorn is cooking all the way across the room, you can see heads turning to see where that wonderful smell is coming from. Yes, I could have maybe gotten a better unit, but not in this price range I believe. It works great, many users have commented that it's not hard to use, works quickly and disassembles easily for cleaning. The warmer lamp keeps the cooked popcorn warm and fresh for hours, though it rarely sits that long. If we have much leftover at closing time, it goes into a plastic bag and tastes fresh the next day. Overall I'm very satisfied. I see more recent reviews that the unit arrives damaged, that makes me sad. Mine was packed extremely well, totally surrounded by solid Styrofoam and though the outside of the box showed scuff marks, the unit was in perfect condition when it was unpacked. I can imagine if the box is dropped hard, something could happen. But I feel the seller does a good job packing it, that's only my opinion of course. 1/11/19. This popcorn maker still works good it looks good and my American Legion post loves it. I don’t know if I’m just lucky, but I recommend this if you’re looking for one. 2/20/24: This popcorn maker is still working just fine, all of the bartenders have no trouble cleaning it and when you’ve got fresh popcorn cooking, it seems to raise the attitude of the entire bar. Darn thing is still working, it’s easy to clean and everybody’s happy, so am I.

Great popper for the office
Great popper, easy to use, makes enough for the whole shift (6-8 people) on break. Cleans up without too much fuss compared to other poppers. Very easy to get started with. Follow the instructions and you get very few unpopped kernals. Of course that also depends on the quality of popcorn that you purchase. We've had it for about 2 weeks, and no complaints. The machine itself is the perfect size to fit in the corner of the break room, but big enough to get the job done.

Great Product, Great Customer Service
My wife ordered this for me as a birthday gift, she knows me well. The shipping box looked a little rough but everything was in good shape with exception of the tires. Both tires were broken in two. Not a show stopper since I could just put the popcorn maker on a cabinet while I waited for the replacement tires. The customer support at Great Northern was top notch. I had my replacement tires in two days and the person I talked to was very nice and helpful. The popcorn it makes is wonderful. I'm the guy who partly goes to the Movies for the popcorn. I've been known to got to a theater that's further away just because the have better popcorn. We also ordered the Great Northern popcorn packs which are wonderful. I can finally have Movie quality popcorn at home. We are very happy with our purchase and with the great customer support at Great Northern.

Great for an at-home theater experience
We purchased this to go in our outdoor theater. Very easy to use and pops up quickly. If you use coconut oil and Flavacol, it really does taste like theater popcorn. The bowl removes for cleaning, it's not the easiest to clean due to the motor but there's much else they can do about that. The inside of the glass gets oil on it, that has to be cleaned so again, not much they can do about that. The one thing they could improve for cleaning purposes is where the glass sits in the metal at the bottom, there is enough room for popcorn bits to get between the glass and the metal and you have to scrape it out with a tip of a knife or something. Would be nice if that was sealed, but I may seal it with some clear caulking so I don't have that problem. Otherwise it was easy to assemble, mine did not arrive with any damage, and it works great.

Not a horrable item but BEWARE of these facts....
This machine makes great popcorn if you are using quality popcorn, oil and toppings. I want to warn everyone thinking about buying this machine, 1st the stand is worthless, made so cheap I worry that it will break, and the whole thing will soon topple over, I plan to move it to a counter top very soon. When this machine arrives you need to dedicate putting it together immediately, and it does take a lot of Assembly. You have only 30 days to make sure it is all correct, and working properly. In my case the light bulb burnt out upon 1st lighting, flickered and went out. When I contacted the company they said they have absolutely no replacement parts for these machines because they are assembled in China. Thus, if you have any issues at all, you need to notify Amazon about any problems, and they will only help you the 1st 30 days after that just know that NO ONE will listen to you about any problem you might incur, and no replacement parts are available PERIOD. Keeping my fingers crossed, I do not usually make purchases this expensive for no support at all after my 1st month of purchase. Be sure to only buy the counter top model or you will regret it, the cart cost about $200 and is absolutely not worth it. good luck to you.
