  • Two didn’t work
Color: Oasis Green
These bottles seemed like the cats ass. I thought I’d found a way to ditch the old hand pump filter. I ordered two for a week trip to boundary waters . As with all new gear or old gear for that matter you have to test it before you go. I am a seasoned outdoors man so I know how to use gear. Both bottles failed the test. One I bought for my son who is 6’1” 200lbs of muscle and he had a hard time trying to push through clean filtered water as a test. Can’t be trusted in the field. The second I tried in my kitchen with clean filtered water. Water shot up the sides onto my floor, not once but three times. I emailed the company ( only way to get ahold of them) and got fast response from them however every solution they offered didn’t fix the problem. I’ll give them credit for having good support but if the thing doesn’t work it doesn’t work. Returned them both. Back to my reliable Katadyn Hiker ... show more

  • Don't buy the Oasis Green
Color: Oasis Green
I purchased 4 of these in 4 different colors for my family so we would know who's is whos. The first Oasis Green leaked out the top when you pressed to filter the water. I tested the other 3 multiple times to make sure I was using the product correctly. Each time I tried the Oasis Green, water came out the sides, indicating the gasket failed or the tollerances on the inner or outer container were not correct. I sent it back for a replacement and the second Oasis Green version failed out of the box. I returned it also. You do have to be patient and apply a constant force on the top to get it to filter. If you press harder it won't filter any quicker and you run the risk of damaging the bottle or filter or gasket, think hydraulic pressure. I'm not sure my younger kids or wife can press hard enough and long enough to filter water so I'll probably be the one doing this the most. Overall the product works as advertised, however I'm not sold on the longevity, especially if it's left inside a hot vehicle. The product is heavy and I'll just keep using my katadyn be free filter system for now and let the rest of the family battle this product. ... show more

  • Process water anytime in the backwoods
Color: Oasis Green
I took this with me as my water bottle on my trip to the Boundary Waters in Sept. 2021. Our group of 9 ended up using this often to process water for all of us when the group's gravity-fed filter bag failed. We were able to process water while in the canoes, onshore, hiking, etc. - anywhere we found clear, un-sedimented water. The filter was definitely getting slower and harder to press by the end of the week, but I estimate we processed quite a bit of lake water during that time for all of us. Definitely recommend having this on your trips to the back country! ... show more

  • Slow work
Color: Oasis Green
I own two Grayls and have found that they are great purifiers albeit slow to process waters with particulates. This also affects the life of the purifier. One would be better off filtering water through something else prior to running it through the Grayl. Another issue, is processing enough water to fill up other containers if one is not going to be near a water source for awhile. My hands took a beating processing multiple cycles through my Grayl and it got me thinking about switching to a device that has a pump handle as having just one 24 ounce container for drinking and meal prep isn't enough. The Grayl does do things that a Sawyer or similar filters do not, but there are pros and cons to both. ... show more

  • A water filter you'll actually use
Color: Oasis Green
I've got other water filters but I don't generally use them I just carry a lot of water with me because it's not worth the hassle and I go on some pretty long backpacking trips the bottom line is this is a water filter you will actually use, and on my last trip when it came down to walking a mile to a fresher water source or just filtering the brown water near me, I decided it wasn't worth the walk and it came out clear and tasted fine. Bottom line is you will actually use this you will love it and you will appreciate it where the other ones take longer and aren't worth the hassle. Equipment you don't use you may as well not even have this one is legit ... show more

  • Water is Essential
Color: Wanderer Red
My husband requested this for Christmas, myself not knowing what it was found it to be pretty awesome. I truly understand the importance of having water and if something was to happen and if someone got lost, I would hope they had something like this on them. I would highly recommend watching YouTube videos about how this functions. My husband loves it. He no longer has to carry large amounts of water when he’s out. ... show more

  • May be nice, but expensive for what it is.
Color: Oasis Green
I liked it. Did not realize it was plastic. Hopefully it will be a nice water filtering device. The filters are about 30 bucks. The rest of it is over priced in my opinion. Not worth 60 bucks for the container. Great little container, but I have a hard time with the 89 buck price. Haven't tried it yet, but others who have bought say it certainly doesn't begin to match the amount stated it will filter. That is using clear water too. ... show more
