The Graco Contender Slim Convertible Car Seat features 2 modes of use to grow with your child from rear-facing harness (5-40 lb) to forward-facing harness (26.5-65 lb), with a slim car seat design that helps save space in your back seat. This is the perfect travel car seat as its lightweight design easily transfers from car to car, and it is certified for aircraft use to help keep your child safe while flying. It easily grows with your child with the Simply Safe Adjust harness system, which allows the headrest and harness to adjust together in one motion. The included LATCH and easy-to-read level indicator help make installation easier. This car seat conveniently features a removable, dishwasher-safe cup holder, a machine-washable seat pad, and 2 recline positions for ease of use.     • Sort of niche, but exactly what I needed
As a former child passenger safety technician (one day I will recertify!), I am verrryyyy picky about my car seats. I am also a childcare provider so I frequently need to fit as many kids into the car as possible. After settling on a FF Radian for my 5 year old, and snagging a narrow backless booster at the store for a first grader, I just needed a good, narrow, RF seat. Wrestled with the radian in RF mode... was not super thrilled, especially since we didn't need the super high weight limit for the children that will be riding in it. My son's convertible was a Britax Boulevard, so I tried that in the three across situation and it was way too wide. After a search of the net for another convertible that is narrow and user friendly, I saw this seat recommended, checked out some reviews and ordered. I'm happy to say that it's absolutely perfect for what we need, fits in a three across with the other two seats I need to use regularly, is easy to use, and the adjustable headrest means I don't have to rethread the harness if I use it for different sized kiddos. My only critique of this seat is that it is naturally very reclined, which is good for younger babies but sometimes irritates RF toddlers. For me, this is a pretty minor issue that I mitigated by installing the seat carefully to achieve the desired angle, but I can see how it could be a turn off for some people. I also don't know that I would use the seat forward facing at all, primarily because it's unlikely to fit for long once the rear facing limits are reached, but for our purposes (needing a versatile, narrow RF convertible) this is perfect. ... show more

This is a quality seat that you can use everyday and for travel. The seat padding really stands out and is comfortable for my little one. The fact that it can be used on an airplane is also a big advantage. Essential parent gear!     • Great slim convertible car seat
I had the Doona and loved it. When I was looking to upgrade my toddlers car seat I knew I wanted something that was slim and didn’t take up a lot of space. This car seat fits just fine in my Hyundai Sonata. The seatbelt installation was pretty easy to install. The anchors gave me a hard time but I think that had to do with how they are in my car. My toddler is rear facing and he’s comfortable and can fall asleep in this seat. It’s very functional and looks great. I’m glad we went with this choice.
