I have tried several smart bulb brands and these Govee bulbs might be the best overall package I have used. The combination of features, brightness, color accuracy, and app functionality puts them ahead of more expensive competitors. The 1200 lumen brightness is legitimately bright. These can fully illuminate a room as your primary light source, not just accent lighting. Many color bulbs sacrifice brightness for features, but these deliver both. Even at full white, they put out serious light that works for reading, cooking, or any task that needs good illumination. Color accuracy and range are impressive. The RGBWW spectrum gives you rich, saturated colors that actually look like what you select in the app. Reds are genuinely red, not orange. Blues are deep and vibrant. The warm to cool white range covers everything from cozy evening ambiance to bright daylight working conditions. The transitions between colors are smooth with no flickering. I have tried multiple smart bulbs and generally do not have any luck connecting them to my Wi-Fi network, perhaps because it is MESH. Regardless, this one connected to my network immediately with the app, and I had no trouble installing it. It has many different brightness levels, settings and colors, and you can independently power the lights on and off with the app. Heck, for Christmas I can have 2 lights green and 2 lights red if I want (I bought 4 bulbs total). I particularly like these balls because of this: So in my circumstance, I needed them because I installed a chandelier that has 2 pot lights on the same switch. When I want the chandelier on, I do not want the pot lights on, so my Electrician suggested that I buy smart bulbs so I could independently shut the lights off and just have the chandelier on. These work just as he suggested. When I power on the switch, both pot lights turned on and so does the chandelier. I open the app and then I power down each pot light that is a smart bulb and so now only the chandelier is on. So far I highly recommend these bulbs!
