I am absolutely obsessed with the brand Govee and this RGBIC LED Strip Lights (16.4 ft, model H617A) is yet another winner in their lineup! I’ve got about 30 of their devices across my home — thermostats, humidifiers, lighting — and each one has delivered stellar performance. This LED strip is no exception. Here’s why I love it: Setup was super easy. I peeled, stuck, and plugged it in—then paired it in the Govee Home app in a minute. The color control is fantastic. Because it’s RGBIC, you can have multiple colors on one line at a time, which gives way more dynamic looks than traditional RGB strips. Amazon The app features are rich: 16 million color options, DIY zones, preset “scenes” for movies/parties/relaxing, and a music‑sync mode that actually works (the built‑in mic picked up the beat and the lights danced along). Amazon Stickiness is good — the tape adheres well to the wall, under the cabinet or behind my TV. The note about cleaning the surface first is legit (dust will ruin the bond) but once it’s done, it stays put. Amazon As someone who’s already invested in the Govee ecosystem, the app integration and build quality fit perfectly with the rest of my smart‑home gear. Everything just works smoothly together. If I were nitpicking: this particular model uses Bluetooth only (no WiFi/voice assistant support per the specs) so if you were hoping for Alexa/Google integration you’ll want one of their WiFi versions. Amazon But for what I needed — a vibrant, reliable smart LED strip — it’s perfect. Bottom line: if you’re considering this, don’t hesitate. It adds immediate “wow” factor and pairs flawlessly with a smart home setup. Highly recommend.

I’ve use other Govee products and love them. I bought this one in Dec of 2024, but life happened so I didn’t get it out of the box until October 2025. Unfortunately, it wasn’t functioning. I contacted Govee via email. They responded within 24 hours. They gave me some hints on resetting it. When those didn’t revive it, they sent me a replacement free of charge. I received it 2 days later. This one works like a charm. Excellent lighting options. Brilliant color options. It creates a fun lighting experience for any room.

This is the standard Govee light strip (not the Pro version with more LEDs). Overall, I’m happy with it. The lights do form a dot pattern on the wall, and it doesn’t have quite as many scene options as the Pro, but you can still customize colors and effects, which is what I did to match it with my other Govee lights. It’s Bluetooth capable but not Wi-Fi, so it doesn’t directly work with Alexa. I solved this by plugging it into an Alexa-enabled smart plug, which made it controllable through Alexa, a good workaround if you don’t want to spend extra on the Pro version. The adhesive that came on the strip is good enough to not need anything extra to hold it in place. For the price, it works well, looks great, and serves its purpose. Definitely a 5-star product for me.

Work just fine as long as you’re careful! I don’t often write reviews, but I thought it could be helpful information since I’ve been through a few sets of these lights. Pros: - Good, easy to use app - Bright, responsive lights - Great customer service - Low price, especially for the length Cons: - Fairly easy to tear/break - Cannot use solderless connectors to navigate corners (to my understanding) - Hit or miss functionality - Not Alexa compatible (which is stated in description) I’ve purchased three sets of these lights, ultimately they are good you just have to be careful. 1. The first one worked ok for a while, but they stopped working, presumably, after my cat bit part of it 2. I ordered another set since they had been working fine until my cat got to it. When I received this one, it was clearly not programmed correctly or there was some other technical issue with it as it would not respond to the app, though the app would say it was connected and would flash random colors in random different sections. I contacted customer service who walked me through some troubleshooting and ultimately sent me a new set, which arrived very quickly, which was greatly appreciated. 3. The third set arrived and seemed to function just fine. After installing them in the same way that I had installed the first set of lights, they soon ended up tearing at a turn point (I used their suggested technique for navigating corners) and no longer worked past that section. I tried to find any solderless connectors that I could use (now that I had at least two sets of partially working lights) however I could not find any that would be compatible (which makes sense given these are RBGIC lights and Govee themselves also stated this to be the case) Ultimately, I don’t think I will buy another set and will probably just spend a little extra for a different set of light strips, likely from the same brand since a different model I’ve used before (TV backlights) has worked well and is Alexa compatible. Plus, Govee’s app is easy to use and has a nice UI.

They’re perfect we did the whole house with less than the 250. We place the 500ft. To have less space in between lights and have more lights! They’re excellent in length, good quality; brightness is perfect with great colors and options. They attach perfect to the house. Power cord is long enough to reach and hide no battery needed.

Great product! Easy to cut to length (segments every 6” or so) and a fun, easy to use app. The app comes with lots of different themes and styles, as well as the option of setting your own colors/brightness for every segment. You can also set a timer through the app and turn the LEDs on or off. The adhesive takes a minute to stick, so no worries if you mess up and need to pull back a bit.
