I use this for drying paint on scale models so this review may not be what you are looking for. This product runs for 3-5 hours at a time in my home office and has performed flawlessly. It has easy controls with pre-set temps to select from and times in half hour increments.

This dehydrator was easy to get up and going in a short amount of time. I am mainly using it for cookie decorating and I like that the trays easily slide in and out. I do wish the timer would go for less than 30 minutes but this is a minor complaint.

Considering I have very little counterspace (3rd pic is pretty much it), this thing is amazing. Even at the hottest setting it doesn't get too hot to touch on the outside - uncomfortable on the back, but harder for the little ones to reach so it nulls that danger. The racks feel a little flimsy to the touch as I coulda swore one cracked as I was pulling it out and removing all the packaging - but it didn't. I plan on handwashing regardless of the fact that it says it is dishwasher safe - would rather not. So far soaking in hot soapy water then cleaning it with a bottle brush seems to be doing the trick. It is SUPER quiet too! Like, I stepped out of the kitchen to the other side of the wall behind the sink, and I couldn't hear it. The beeps it makes when done are juuust loud enough to hear in the back of the unit. So far, quite happy with my purchase! I've used it three times so far in the past week (fruit leathers, dried some fruit out as a trial, then the jerky) and have many - MANY more plans for it! ... show more

    • Easy to use dehydrator, quiet and effective
I got this for myself for my birthday. It is so easy to use, just thinly cut up whatever you want to dehydrate and put on the trays. I am now able to "save" fruits and veggies that I was tossing before because they were going too ripe. I put the dehydrated foods in mason jars and pop them in the pantry. Fruits are especially good in cereal and oatmeal. I'm excited to try more things. The machine itself is quiet and needs about 8-10 hours to do its magic. It sits nicely on a counter or the floor. Its noise to work is like a very quiet fan, and you can use it with other normal household things going on. We watched a movie (open floorplan house) while it sat on the counter and we didn't even notice it. The only thing that I wish that it did was turn itself off when it is complete, but it beeps loudly (shrilly) and keeps doing that until you come turn it off. This is the first one I have ever own. Based on others pictures I thought it was going to be smaller. However, it's a lot bigger that I expected and I couldn't be happier. After plugging it in, I was amazed how quiet this is. It's going to be great to run while we are sleeping. Great bang for my buck and being my first dehydrator.
