I recently purchased the Gourmia GDT2650 toaster because my old toaster couldn't handle browning my toast anymore. I am extremely happy with the decision to go with this brand. I feel like I finally entered the 21st century in the world of making toast. This toaster has a digital display with six different preset settings to choose from. But if you want to add more time that is also optional. Push the lever down again and touch the +30 second button if needed. The slots are wider to accommodate larger bread items such as bagels or thick rolls. The process is very simple. Set the menu button when you push the lever down. Touch the menu function till you get to what item you will be toasting and walk away. It's that easy. I just toasted waffles for the first time and they came out perfectly. I chose the frozen feature because it allows more time to defrost. I also like that you can reheat your bread without having to toast it again and risk overdoing it. Another thing I would like to mention is when toasting a bagel, face the cut side inward. I think it toasts more evenly. This toaster is also easy to clean. It has a crumb tray that slides out from the bottom rear of the machine. I just wipe it down the outside with a soft cloth to remove fingerprints. It is a great addition to my kitchen and I recommend it to anyone looking for a quality toaster. ... show more

I really like the time remaining feature of the toaster. The reason I gave it a 4/5 was because it did not work well when I first got it. It initially would not lock in place when we would pull the lever down. After using it a few times that issue went away. I chalked it up to the product being so new. It has worked well ever since. We had been in search for a toaster that toasts evenly, and we have finally found it!! I especially love that it is digital, and provides a countdown to how much time is remaining which lets me get everything else ready and know how much time I have left. I love that it has different settings depending on what you are toasting —bagel, bread, waffle, English muffin, pastry… we have even used it for our frozen hash browns and voila, they come out perfectly crunchy. It even has the option for frozen so you can put in straight from the freezer and it works like a charm. It is very simple to use, easy to clean, and also looks great! Just got this today. Toasted perfectly even on both sides. I set it to 3. The timer is easy to read, the menu button has an arrow to indicate which mode it is on. I don't do bagels but I tested it and the burners on the inside are lit so both slices should be facing toward the middle. The electrical cord was about 2 inches longer than my Bella Toaster (around 30 inches but extends 25 inches beyond the back of the toaster). My elderly grandmother moved in with us this past year and insists on heating up her bread and bagels in the oven and always forgets about it and leaves the oven on for hours and letting her toast burn. As much as I have tried convincing her to get a toaster, she was convinced it would be too hard for her to figure out. We tried some other toasters and she had gotten frustrated. I am old enough to remember that the term, "Chinese Junk" referred to a type of boat. Sadly, it now can be used to describe much of the merchandise we buy. Such is the case with this toaster. Regardless of which setting was selected and which slot was used, the side of the bread was always much darker on the side facing the center compared to the side facing the outside. For example, on the number 3 setting the inside was fairly dark and the outside was just dry, with no toasting. When I called the company the rep had the audacity to tell me that most people just turned the bread over so that the sides were even, but that he would still arrange for a warranty replacement. Well, the results with the replacement were exactly the same. I won't bother with another warranty replacement, but will instead go to Target or Walmart to buy something else. ... show more
