7/14/2023: After initially having been denied warranty support, the GoTrax folks stepped up and made this right. They were prompt in their communications and they made every effort to resolve the issue. Although I was out of town and slow to respond, they worked with me and were very pleasant and patient with me. WEI was a representative who seemed to genuinely care about making this right and I am thankful for those efforts. After this situation got the attention of the right person, I was given 100% support. They absolutely came through for my daughter. Thank you to Wei Z and Jane! PREVIOUS POST: AVOID THIS PRODUCT! This scooter is designed with a battery connector that makes poor contact, thereby heating up and melting the connector. This is due to a bad design, not abuse. When this happens, the scooter is unusable and you have to buy an entire battery assembly, not just a connector. Worse, GoTrax has a 1 year warranty, EXCEPT for AMAZON sales which is reduced to 180 days. My daughter's scooter lasted more than 180 days but far less than one year. GoTrax won't warranty the part and has no batteries in stock to sell. My 10 year old saved her own money to buy this scooter and it has failed with ZERO support. AVOID GOTRAX AT ALL COSTS. I purchased this scooter for my 9yr old grandson, after six months it stopped working. Lydia in customer service worked closely with us. She was very responsive. She sent a new controller, that didn’t work, so she shipped a new battery. Turns out the battery was defective. Lydia was very patient and helpful. The scooter is up and running.
