Love this bike! Easy to fold, comfortable to ride, and perfect for daily commuting. Highly recommend! I’m genuinely impressed with its quality and performance. Assembly was straightforward, and the bike felt solid and well-built right out of the box. The folding design is one of my favorite features. It folds quickly and fits easily in my SUV, making it perfect for road trips, camping, or storing in a small garage. Despite being foldable, it feels sturdy and stable while riding. The motor provides plenty of power for everyday commuting and recreational rides. It accelerates smoothly, reaches 20 mph without any issues, and handles moderate hills much better than I expected. The 5 levels of pedal assist make it easy to choose how much effort I want to put in.

I got the Gotrax R1 more than week ago and it's been awesome. Assembly was fast and easy. The bike feels really solid on the road and comfortable also. May I add, fast too. It's my dog that can't keep up with me now. I'm short and finding a bike that fits comfortably can be tough. This one is perfect. I like that it has both full throttle and pedal assist so when I feel lazy, I can just ride it like a motorcycle. This is a great ebike.

The Build: The bike arrived well-packaged, though it is quite heavy and a bit awkward to get out of the box if you’re assembling it solo. It took some time to get everything together, but the overall build quality feels solid and sturdy. The "Power" Secret: Initially, I thought the bike was DOA. I had the battery lock turned about 80% of the way to the "lock" position, and nothing would turn on. This is located under the frame. After a few days of talking to Gotrax support (who were helpful and sent a video), I realized the key has to be turned completely until it clicks into the full engagement/lock position for the battery power to flow. If you’re stuck, check that key first! Ride & Performance: • Aesthetics: The integrated battery looks much slicker than my older E bike. It has a very clean, "stealth" look. • Handling: It’s a 20-inch frame, so you’re lower to the ground (more like a BMX feel than a mountain bike). While I miss being higher up, the lower center of gravity makes it way more stable. I’ve fallen off taller bikes when accelerating too fast, but on this one, my feet can hit the ground easily, which feels much safer. • Hills: For a bigger guy (around 230 lbs), it handled hills surprisingly well. On steep inclines, it slowed to about 7 mph, but it kept moving. On flat ground, I averaged about 10 mph on my commute and maxxed at 20 mph. • Battery: In my first week of commuting (3 miles each way), I used about 20% of the battery for a 6-mile round trip. Given my weight, that’s better than I expected. After 4 round trips I had to recharge. Verdict: At this price point, this is an excellent entry-level e-bike. It’s $1,000 cheaper than my last one and does the job for rail trails and work commutes. I’ll have to see how it holds up long-term, but so far, it’s a great value!

Easy to put together. Easy to store/travel with. Bought this and immediately brought it camping. Sturdy, well constructed bike. Did great on dirt trails. Fast and speedy bike with good power, especially for going up hills. Seat adjusts easily so I can share the bike with my husband.

I have had this bike since the end of October 2024 the gotrax r1 and let me just start by saying this is hands down the best ebike I have come across as far as value for money !!! I have put well over 1000 miles on this bike and it gets around 20 miles per charge on throttle only mode. It is user friendly and I remember when I got it the instructions were very clear and it was an easy to put the wheel in it came with tools as well. Let's talk about features this bike comes with a 48 volt battery up tested might I add making it acceptable anywhere that usually does not accept lithiom ion battery's as well as giving the user peace of mind (no one wants there ebike to become a suicide bomb so that alone is a huge reason to buy this bike it has 5 speed settings which are customizable in the program menu for peddle assist throttle is not effected by the pedal assist settings.moving onto speed this bike easily does 20 in full throttle and have gotten it to go 35 down hills there was no worry or speed wobble at those speeds and I was very happy with the balance and overall handling. The battery can be charged in or out of the bike and it comes with two keys for the battery and one charger which comes with a voltage regulator. The customer service of this company is unmatched I unfortanly had an accident on this bike about 4 weeks back now in which I cracked the screen it was my fault for being on my phone with one hand I have since got a phone holder but the craziest part with the screen cracked and I mean CRACKED PIECES LITTERALLY MISSING it still turned on and worked up until I replaced it with the new screen. Go trax does a two year warranty and all I had to do to get my new parts was to contact them via email to submit my claim including a picture of the problem as well as my order receipt number which is very easy to find on amazon. I must say as I use this bike every day I am so very thankful to the go trax support team for there quick response to my claim and getting the parts shipped under warranty completely free of charge! They really honor and value there customers which is rare for a company nowadays and I will most definitely be purchasing from them in the future I already have my eye on an electric dirt bike they make and am currently saving for it. i use this bike for Uber eats and for commuting to and from work so this has been a game changer as far as not having to take care of a car pay gas prices insurance registration or inspection fees. The only con I can add to this review is that after about 3 months of use the screen had a bug where when I would turn on the bike it would do its normal count up and countdown but instead of the display coming on normally it would default to the settings menu and wouldn't let me exit. I called Amazon support and they contacted go trax who said theyd replace the bike under warranty. Being that I use this to commute I didn't want to wait for the time it would take to ship a new one and decided to see if there was a way to fix the big myself. I spent almost two hours string different things but I finally figured it out and the bug also never left that screen but to anyone who may have the same issue you just turn on the screen like normal and on the control buttons on the top right above the light button when the number gets to 9 on the count up you press and hold and it will exit that screen to the normal display and function as normal. So even the only con I can list turned out to be a blessing in disguise because I realized no one could steal the bike if they had the chance because no one knew about the bug and how to exit the screen it was like having my own little extra security. Fortunately the new screen looks and works just fine I'll end this review by saying I highly recommend this and any gotrax product to someone who is looking for a product that will last and be confident about the performance thank you again gotrax for this wonderful bike and the a Mazing customer support

I have been looking for a e bike for my daughter for a while, she had asked for her 10th birthday, our neighbor’s daughter had one she tried it on and loved it. She like this particular style that is foldable and smaller in size. We went with the Gotrax brand as we already own a Gotrax e scooter, and it has been great. This bike came with a big box that hubby have to build it, he looked up a YouTube video and put it together rather quickly, he is pretty handy with stuff like his. The bike feels very solid and ride very smoothly, easy to operate, it folds very easily all the adjustment is very easy to operate. It will be pretty easy for my daughter to operate. As a parent safety is most important. We ride around for a bit the brake works great as well. Now I want one for myself. Overall we are very happy with our purchase, definitely trust Gotrax’s product. Hope our baby will love her birthday present! Can’t wait.

Just got mine in. Overall, love this bike. I will update this review after a couple weeks of use. Pros: Pedal assist mode is really useful. I love that. I have a throttle as well as an option to have the bike assist me. First, it was kind of hard to use, but once I figured it out, it was really, really simple. Battery life seems to be pretty long, and it came with a full charge. Pedal assist is a great job of carrying me up the hills on my campus. Brakes seem to work great so far. The folding makes it far easier to manage. It comes with all the tools necessary for assembly. Cons: The assembly manual is useless. Google “gotraxs R1 assembly video” And click on the Amazon video for a real instructional video. Only takes about three minutes. The key is on the underside of the bike, which is pretty stupid. But once you turn it to where you need it, you can take the Key out. Although the folding makes it more manageable, it’s still pretty freaking heavy. Lugging it to my third floor apartment was not an option, so I put it in the trunk of my car, a small sedan, and it fit perfectly. Also, there is no suspension so you will feel every bump not a huge problem if you’re on paved roads. The headlight is also very dark, and doesn’t really light your way, But if you’re on a illuminated roadway, it allows other people to see you. Also has tail lights. Overall, loving my initial, look at the bike and feel to it. I will update this later if it has any issues (UPDATE) Hi again! the bike now has about 50 miles of usage in a relatively hilly city, mostly used on the sidewalk. Still love it! I did realize that the bracket holding my screen on was missing a screw, but I got a .20$ screw from Ace and fixed that immediately. The screen has a minor scratch on it that I only noticed under direct sunlight, but it is a nonissue IMO. Charges great. I ride this bike about 5-7 miles a day in a very hilly area, typically using PAS 3 or 4 (occasionally inching into 5) , and usually by the time I return home I have only used ~20% of the battery, which is right on par, or maybe slightly above, what is advertised. I weigh 200lbs plus about 20lbs of gear, in nearly 95F weather, and it has not had any overheating problems whatsoever. Speed is pretty good. Itll sling me at 20mph with no problem, and its only had trouble on one particular hill, which is going up at what I imagine has got to be a 20 or 25 degree angle. Gonna up the maximum speed when I get home today. To avoid lugging that thing all the way to the third floor of my apartment, I've started folding it up, removing the battery, and locking it in the (small) trunk of my car. The bike is very heavy to carry that high, but this works out quite nicely. Overall, still very impressed with the bike. My friend just ordered one because I talk so highly of the thing.
