After receiving this E bike I could immediately tell the quality and durability would be top notch. I have 2 scooters from GoTrax , which I love as well, so I figured I would try the E Bike for longer commutes. A few things I love. First, it was very easy to assemble, instructions were clear and concise. It took me under a hour. Secondly, I appreciate how lightweight and small it folds up. It fits into my car no problem and I can pick it up myself as a 120lb woman. Thirdly, the battery seems to have a long life, making constant charging unnecessary. It has the power to go up hills and through off road terrain as well. Lastly, it’s built with strong materials that seem as if it will last a very long time. Overall I’m very happy with this purchase and can’t wait to have many adventures. I would recommend this E Bike as it’s a great value for the quality.

I purchased two of these bikes for my wife and I to use while camping. I’m 69 and not as strong as I used to be. These bikes are incredibly well built and as a result are heavy and awkward for an old guy to fold and move, Initially I gave these 4 stars because of the weight BUT it’s now a five because I put a double bike rack on my RV and they’re a breeze to load now. This bikes are amazing and incredibly fast the first time you get on it. Putting the first one together took me about an hour to put together because I wanted to make sure everything was exactly correct. The second one took me about 20 minutes to put together once I knew what I was doing. The best way to ride slowly is to use the electric only mode (using the throttle only) which is a twist grip on the right handlebar. The dual disc brakes work very well and as soon as engaged stop the motor. After doing some research, these are class 2 bikes and most state parks limit you to riding on paved park roads only. These bikes are very adjustable for rider height which makes use much more comfortable as do the 22” fat tires. Putting the key in to turn on the battery is a challenge for us older folks because you have to kneel down to find the key hole. The key actually has what feels like 3 positions and it took me a while to figure that out. The only challenge I’ve encountered while riding while getting used to it are tight U-turns I found this is best done using the throttle only, if you start peddling the motor kicks in and makes it a little unstable ( remember I’m 69 and my balance is a little shaky. Haven’t been on any type of bike for 10 years). Overall these bikes are great. A bit on the heavy side but very well made and straightforward to assemble and use. They are an absolute blast to ride. Bad hips, knees etc..are no longer a challenge. Having fun feels good.

I've been using the Gotrax 20" Folding Electric Bike for a few weeks now, and I'm really impressed! The 48V battery gives me plenty of range easily up to 40 miles on a full charge, which is perfect for commuting and running errands. It rides smooth and feels solid on the road. The pedal assist levels are super helpful. I usually keep it on level 3 or 4, and it gives me a nice boost without feeling like I'm not doing anything. When I need more power, the 500W peak motor kicks in nicely and gets me up to 20mph with no problem. One of my favorite things is how it folds up. It’s perfect for saving space at home or when I need to put it in my car. The LCD display is clear and easy to read, and the controls are straightforward. Overall, this bike is reliable, fun to ride, and a great value for the price. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable electric bike for commuting or everyday use.

We received our white Go Trax R1 Electric Bike with the heavy wall outer cardboard carton having a slight indent along the top side edge. After opening the carton there was no visible damage to anything. The bike is packed extremely well with lots of heavy duty Ty wraps, and padding held in place with Ty wraps. We lifted to bike directly out the top opening of the carton as it is not that heavy, about 50 pounds. All tools are provided for assembly and includes a small tool kit “zip pouch” to contain all tools. Once we read thru the assembly portion of the manual, it was not clear to us how to mount the front fender. The tab at the top of the fender is not visible in the picture. We mounted the light on the front side of the fork just under the bolt head, and mounted the fender tab to the back side of the fork just under the nylon insert lock nut. The fender seems to fit the curvature of the tire fine so it seems ok to us mounting the fender like we did. The lower fender (wire) braces fasten under the smaller bolts at the bottom of the forks (near the axle bolts). All other assembly went well for us. The bike seems to be very well designed and constructed. We are very happy with the quality and value. Remember to fully charge the battery before using the bike. Took the bike for a short ride. At first it handles slightly different than a 10-speed bike so go slow and be careful. We started with the #1 position (when you press the “+” button once after startup) and it will go fast enough. To be safe we are going to buy the lightweight helmets. Also thought it might be easier to adjust to the bike using electric only, then once used to it, add in the “pedal assist.” You can easily get to a cruising speed around 10 MPH and hold the throttle steady by placing your hand half way over the throttle and the non-moving part of the right handle grip. Oh, Adding a small basket (with a weather resistant lid) on the back rack will be helpful when riding to the store and holding your purchased items. This would be a handy place to store your tool kit too. I would recommend to double check all the hardware nuts & bolts after riding for an hour or so. That way you can be sure all mechanical connections are tight. Enjoy!
