I got this for my 12 year old. I had to guide him and help balance him the first couple times of use. It does take a little time to get used to, however I feel like he mastered the use of it within about 15 minutes. He did need to build up some confidence before going on his own, but he was rolling all over the house on his own in no time. We have wooden floors and the hoverboard glided smoothly on it. The battery is long lasting. It’s durable and sturdy. It can hold a good amount of weight, so it’s great for kids and teens. My husband tried it given he is close to the weight threshold (175 pounds) and it carried him along just as easily as it did my son, it has a pretty powerful motor. It turned with ease, I was able to control the movement swiftly with my feet. I was surprised with the performance, it has some get up and go and it was much easier to use than I expected. I recently purchased the Gotrax Glide Hoverboard, and although it is primarily designed for kids, I think it's suitable for adults weighing under 170 lbs, cause my wife is around 130 lbs and she can ride it without any issue. The hoverboard has a maximum speed of around 6mph, which is perfect for cruising around your neighborhood or local park. It also has a maximum range of roughly 2.8 to 3 miles, which depends on the weight capacity. One of the features I really appreciate is the built-in LED lights, which make it easy to see and be seen when riding at night. Additionally, it has a speaker that can connect to your phone via Bluetooth to play your favorite tunes while cruising around. In terms of build quality, I found the Gotrax Glide Hoverboard to be very sturdy and well-made. The motor runs smoothly, and the hoverboard is surprisingly easy to balance on, even for beginners. The Gotrax Glide Hoverboard is super fun, perfect for my son, he has been asking for one since forever I was so afraid of him falling and hurting himself, but I decided to get him one and surprisingly he's an expert with it, he never had one and he uses it like he had one forever, he said that this one is very easy to use and maneuver that's why he learned to use it really fast, he's 13 years old. The hoverboard is nice looking I love the metallic color and the cool lights, it's also sturdy and durable, the quality seems very good.
