I gave it a 5 star since it would work as intended for kids 7+. I bought it for my 5 y.o. since I wanted her to have a e-scooter that would not be too slow. But it is way to fast for her and to start it you would need to press on 2 buttons with 2 of your feet. Kinda difficult for a 5 yo to figure this out with a brake... Love this scooter. It arrived well packaged and without a scratch. Easy to set-up. Feels solid and well-constructed, with no loose and ungainly wires, and everything nicely covered and tucked away. The ride is surprisingly smooth and cut a couple of sidewalk corners riding some unpaved terrains. Overall, my first ride experience has been great. The first thing you would notice is how well they have shipped it. I notice first thing is that the way they distribute the weight, picking up and moving this scooter is quick and easy with a simple and lock tight folding mechanism. Another thing that is great is the big solid tires that come with this scooter, they allow for an easy ride where you don't have to worry about a flat tire and are big enough to take the worry of hitting potholes. Personally, I don't think you could find a better-built electric scooter at this price range. There is a lot of pros without many cons, I honestly can't find a part of this scooter I personally don't like. Everything aside, for a scooter at this price range, been using it for a week now I have had absolutely no issues with it, and every time I ride it, I only feel inclined to ride it more and more. This is the second GKS scooter for me. The first one was Zoom. It was excellent, it worn out after almost 3 years. This first Plus was not so good, I contacted the customer service , they sent me a replacement. This one is excellent. The customer service was great when I contacted them. The GKS is very easy to assemble with tools provided. Just a few screws, maybe with the help of WD40. Not too fast, that's why it is good for kids to start scooting. This Plus model has lights and beeping sound for safety. The distance is quite reasonable . Wheel are solid rubber and have a good grip on the road. I love it for the neighborhood shopping, within a mile radius. Acceleration and braking are from the sensors on the standing platform, very sensitive. The rear wheel cover helps the braking too. This is quite different from hand braking system. A little practice , but quite easy to control With the platform not so high, it is absolutely safer, especially for kids. ... show more

My 7 year old loves it. It goes at a reasonable speed, and thankfully not too fast. The charge port cover tends to come off, which isn’t great, but we deal with it.

Bought this as a Christmas Present. Broke after 1 month of use. Contacted customer service as its still under warranty and they took two weeks to finally get back to me that they will ship me a part but has to come from China and will take several weeks. If I don't receive it "after a long time" to reach back out. I asked if they could just send me a replacement and I ship this back - the video they sent to make the repair is of a different scooter and the guy in the video is banging on the scooter at one point. They didnt reply so just left with hoping I get this part and can fix. Even if I do fix it I'm not holding my breadth it will last very long as it broke quickly to begin with. ... show more
